Sitting inside the stone walls of her solitary 'room' Her mind was in a panic. There was always a constant paranoia running rampant due to her lack of memories. Jay was plotting and planning for her quick escape as she pulled out a jagged piece of plastic. Over the last week, she had made the edge sharper and sharper and today was the day she was checking out of Hotel California. Taking the sharp plastic she made a gash on her hand and rubbed blood on the small observation window. The guards would come to check any minute and that was sure to get the door open.
Gripping the shank in her hand she stood behind the door as it finally opened. The sharp plastic dug into the man's jugular as she pulled his id car and darted out the door. Moving down the halls she used it to open every cell on the row. The chaos was enough to allow her to slip right out of the exit and she just ran. Constantly she was on the run through empty houses of people who weren't home. After patching up the gash on her hand she was on the run with money and jewelry she had stolen.
Finding a room in some old apartment building she managed to find a place to lay low. Her she was basically locked up with just her empty mind as company. Why couldn't she remember anything? Did she have a family out there and a life? All the thoughts in her mind screamed at her to figure it out but she had no clue where to start. Didn't help that she was wanted in the assault and death of an orderly at that mental asylum. Tired of her screaming mind she found peace at the bottom of a bottle before she passed out on a dirty bed.
Cole had had a rough couple of days. They had met with that asshole in the tan trench coat and everything turned to shit. He worked for GADEM, and though Cole had lobbied to move to another building.... Roxy was sure that they wouldn't be back to bother them. She insisted that they stay put. She said she wasn't going to have some asshole run them out of their home and if it came to it, they would fight. Cole never minded a fight, but he wasn't looking forward to the thought of any of his friends getting hurt. He was nervous about staying. One abandoned building was as good as the next after all. But this had become home. He knew every hallway. Every decrepit stain on the wall. Every rusty pipe and every leaky drain.
So when he came back home from a supply run to find his bedroom door open and ajar... He tensed up. Cole had a back of groceries in his hand. He moved through the dark hallway quietly. Setting the bag down just inside his apartment. Electricity sparked through his arms. Red lightning jumped over his flesh and rode down his forearms in tingling waves. His eyes sparked with red crackles of electricity. The pupils gone as the electricity was all you could see in his eyes.
Everything in the living room looked normal. There was his lumpy couch with the springs sticking out of it. His half built entertainment center with the old tube tv. There was a recliner perched in front of the tv. A tv tray in front of the chair with last night's TV dinner still sitting there half eaten. He fell asleep watching old episodes of Law and Order. Moving through the room he checked the first bedroom and found that it was empty.
It wasn't until he got to the second bedroom that he found something. A woman. The sparks stopped quietly crackling and his eyes returned to normal as he watched her for a moment. She had smooth tan skin and uh.... Well, honestly a nice rack. He wasn't sure what to do. He remembered hearing the story of goldilocks and the three bears, but he was pretty sure in that story the bear didn't have an errection and they weren't in what could be considered a crackhouse. At least not in the version he was told. Otherwise....
What a fucked up story for kids. Cole pushed the door open and moved inside. Scratching at the back of his head he struggled internally with what to do for a moment before deciding to wake her. She was a runaway or a lost girl or some shit. But that's what the lost were. A home for those who didn't have a home.
He couldn't remember the last time he had a girl in his bed. He only wished it wasn't awkward. Kicking the bed gently he cleared his throat..... "So uh..... That's my bed." He said pointing casually at the dirty lumpy mattress. "You need a room or something?" He asked. He kept his lightning in check. He didn't know if this was one of the GADEM agents or not, but he didn't think so at least. Still he was going to play it close to the vest until he found out a little more.

For the first time in ages, she was actually sleeping deeply and well. Locked up in that living hell had her so tired of being up and always keeping her mind awake. Now in the crack house, she was sleeping like a child in the deepest of ways. She had dreams of this life but the people in the memories were faces he damaged mind didn't remember. They were her family but she felt nothing towards them because all those emotions were lost in the wreck. Jay was so deeply asleep that she didn't hear anyone enter the room. Nor did she realize that she had someone standing and staring at her to figure out what to do.
When the bed shook and the voice filled her ears she quickly jumped up. Out of her tan, flawless skin barbs like a porcupine started to emerge in a strictly defensive nature. Her mind was still half asleep but it didn't take her much effort to have made it across the room from the man. "If you're here to take me back. I'm not going!" There was clear fear in her voice as she darted out the door and into the darkness of the hallways. As far as she knew he could've been one of the orders there to lock her back up in the cage.
She could hear the guy's footsteps coming after her and she made her way to a stairwell and straight up she went till she was on the roof. Not exactly the best idea as she moved over to the ledges to see it was a pretty far drop. There was a voice calling to her and she spun around to see the same guy that had woke her up. "I'm not going back... I'm not going back to that cage to be tortured and be alone. I'd rather die, Please don't hurt me.."
Jay was backing towards the edge of the building in her frantic attempts to avoid capture. Though her shoe slid on some loose gravel and she fell over the edge. Her hands caught into the wall of the building her gaze looked down before she started to panic more. Was it really gonna end like this after all the fear and pain? The Quils in her hand changed into a thick railroad like spike to keep her from falling.
Cole wasn't exactly expecting the reaction he got. He was the one on edge honestly. He thought she might've been another GADEM Asshole. Tired or ripping apart this tossed ass apartment building and deciding to take a nap before continuing looking for clues about the mutants whereabouts. Ever since they lost Wreckshop though, GADEM's actual interest in their little group had waned.
They didn't deem them dangerous or threatening. Not enough to bother with. They knew about Roxy's abilities, but mostly they assumed the rest were just low-level delta mutants. It wasn't like GADEM to not do their homework, but Wreckshop was gone and the trail was already getting colder. They didn't have the time nor the patience to fuck around with some homeless mutant scrubs. Cole wasn't exactly expecting her to get up and bolt like a fucking track star.
At first he didn't react at all. He only stood there watching the slow bounce back of his rickety little wooden door. It slammed against the wall and bounced back, slowly closing. "Holy shit." He said to the empty room before taking off after her. "Lady! Wait!" He quickened his pace. Honestly the stairs weren't in the best shape and though they weren't falling apart yet, they weren't something you wanted to go running up and down! Cole followed her out to the roof. "Will....You.....Stop....*Out of breath and breathing hard....* Running!"
Out of breath or not Cole's heart lept out of his chest as he saw her falling over the edge of the building. He screamed out loud and everything seemed to go in slow motion. Cole turned his whole body into a red streak of electricity and jolted across the roof. He was at the ledge in 0.00001 seconds flat. "Gotcha!" He said grabbing her wrist. "You can't fall off my roof you crazy ass lady! I'm not insured." It was a clusmy attempt at humor but under the circumstances it was the best he could do.

Hanging of that ledge she was prepared for death to take her because it was better than going back. Though this guy managed to get across the rood in what she swore was less than a second and grab her hand. Retracting her spikes she started to climb back up the wall and over the ledge. dusting herself off as she stood there before her eyes darted back up. "So your not from the facility to bring me back? I'll never go back there alive." She spoke as she leaned and looked of the ledge and honestly that fall wouldn't even kill her. The building wasn't tall enough to make sure she hit the ground dead. A sigh escaped her lips as she looked back at the man.
"Who are you exactly? Most call me quil." As she spoke she gripped his had and spines began to protrude her body, everything was covered but the hand that held his. After a moment they vanished as she pulled them back in. Moving away from his she headed back for the door that lead back into the building. "So you like live here? Are you running from someone to? Cant see why you would want to other wise." Jay spoke with a smile as she wandered down the stairs to the room she had once been sleeping in. "So what are we doing tonight my guy?"
There was a confidence to her voice as she plopped back down on the bed and kicked her shoes off. The place was a rats nest but at least she didn't feel so threatened here. Even if the guy did try to hurt her then he would be full of holes after her power got him. Quil would never go down without a fight either way. Patting the bed beside her she waited for him to sit and get as comfy. Basically she invited herself to stay in his room and had no plans of really leaving. He was kinda cute looking after all and what other options did she have?
Cole really couldn't decide what he thought about this girl. She was honestly pretty hot. Then again he saw needles and corkscrews coming out of her arms. What the fucking shit was that?!? Cole smiled and rubbed at the back of his neck as she asked him about his home. "It's home sweet hell. Ah, it's not so bad. don't have to worry about being robbed." The laugh he let out did little to ease the tension.
"This place is kind of a crashing spot for mutants between residences. Stay as long as you like. " Cole smirked as he watched all the deadlies retract. "That's some skill you got there." Cole watched her walk about the building now with much more confidence. She wasn't scared anymore, and if she was she surely wasn't showing it. It was kind of cool, if not a little insulting. She could just chill around him, though she didn't find him threatening anymore. NOt that he wanted to come off as some kind of badass, but he was a little disappointed that he wasn't as mysterious as he liked to think he was.
She plopped on the couch and Cole stood in the doorway. Leaning against the doorframe he peered down the hall. Roxy must've turned in for the night. Roxy had been busy since Ashly had shown up. They were all worried about Wreckshop, and they hadn't heard a peep from GADEM since that trenchcoat wearing asshole blew town. Cole turned his attention back to Jay.
"I'm Cole, but you can call me Livewire." HE allowed electricity to zap through his fingers and the trickle and spark of red lightning shot from finger to finger. He touched his hand against the wall and the lights came on, the tv came on. The whole apartment came to life with electricity as he juiced the old wires and brought himself over to the couch where she sat. "Netflix and chill?" He snarked. He didn't have netflix but he did have a dvd player.
