Ashley paced in the small room, she already fiddled too much with the metal utensils littering the clean surfaces. When she bent a few needles at an odd, irreparable angle she stopped messing with the stuff. Instead she walked over to the window to look into the afternoon sun slowly diving down to the horizon in a dark orange hue. She was pissed and worried and Ashley hardly even knew how to handle the whole thing, there wasn’t even a declaration of what she and Roxy turned out to be but the white haired mutant couldn’t help the persistent fear for Roxy’s safety.
If matters couldn’t get any worse, they lost wreckshop completely with absolutely no idea where she bounced off to and that skinny bastard was alive and mostly well, far better off than she ever hoped to leave him. Red was in another room, she knew Cole was close but she didn’t pay attention as to how close. Ashley’s sole focus was waiting for that groggy state of awakening she longed to see on Roxy’s face.
Ashley sighed loudly, grabbing a bench in the corner and dragging it to Roxy’s side, she wiped a strand of hair from Roxy’s eyes before lacing her fingers through the limp grip of the brunette’s hand. there was a comfort to feeling a slight thud as the blood pumped through that clever little radial artery and Ashley found herself smiling at the knowledge that she wasn’t hurt, simply enthralled by a forced slumber.
Ashley herself was exhausted, mostly from the stress and anger flooding her system. She looked over Roxy’s peaceful features with adoration, “You’re really pushing it with this nap now”. The joke wasn’t meant for anything other than to relieve the tension keeping her shoulders stiffly folded into a constant spas, Ashley lay her head down on the warmth of Ashley’s shoulder as she slowly embraced the quiet suspense and waited for any sign that Roxy would wake up soon.
Roxy sat there with her eyes closed. She was awake. She had been awake for the last ten minutes, though she laid there quietly. Silently. Not moving. Trying very hard not to let the smile break out over her face. She was enjoying listening to Ashley worry over her. It was sweet. It was cute. Kind of a major turn on too, but what didn't turn her own about that fucking girl?
After a moment or so she finally gave up her gag. "So...You'd be totally lost without me huh?" She joked. Roxy burst out into a big grin. Sitting up she couldn't help but laugh. Ashely was sweet. She was the best thing that had even stumbled into her crazy life to be honest. She had never had someone who cared about her the way Ashely did. There was Cole. But that wasR different. That was more like a kid brother than this.....
"Hey....Ash." She started. Roxy looked down and fiddled with the edge of her leather jacket. She pulled at it needlessly in her hands as she worked up the courage to ask her a question. "You really care about me don't you?" It wasn't Roxy's style to be vulnerable and weak. The taste of weakness tasted bitter on the tip of her tongue honestly. Roxy hated the feeling of needing someone and at the same time....The thought of not being with Ashley left the lining in her stomach rotting and her throat wanting to collapse on itself.
She looked up at Ashley with a hopeful smile. She reached up and tucked some loose strands of hair behind her ear and leaned in and gave Ashely a short peck kiss on the cheek. She was sitting in a bed she didn't recognize. She looked around and saw the place looked like a hospital. It was the first time she noticed her surroundings. "Uh...Where the fuck are we?" She asked with sarcasm lacing every other word. She didn't like hospitals. Not only because they were super squeaky clean, but because they were hard to pull mold out off when hardly any existed if the hospital was up to code.

Ashley sat up with a happy grin, until she realized the façade of a slumber Roxy pulled over her with the best of intentions. Her fingers reached out to levitate the bed’s metal frame before allowing it to tumble to the floor with a hard thud, a familiar stranger walked by the open door with a curious glance but ended up darting off with a filled syringe tucked in between her fingers. “That was sneaky”, she placed an open palm of mock hurt over her chest with a cheeky grin, “I’m proud really”. Ashley herself fell into a comfortable laughter dripping with the raw adoration for the beautiful girl she’d grown infatuated with.
“I’m not putting any effort into hiding it”, Ashley smiled gently leaning over to press a tender kiss to Roxy’s lips, “you’re pretty much stuck with me now”. Ashley’s lips tilted into a smile as she pulled back, the bed shook slightly under the undeniable feelings surging through her chest like a fucking wildfire. There was a trail of warm electricity pulsing through her skin at the short touch of Roxy’s lips against her cheek.
“Oh uh, Cole drove us here. Little refuge for mutants who need help, you and red were both out cold”, Ash wasn’t sure if she should tell Roxy that they lost the skinny asshole or wreckshop just yet so she held off and waited patiently for Roxy to take in her environment. Ashley still felt the heavy weight of absolute fury at the idea that anyone dared hurt the woman she cared about. She had half a mind to wait until Roxy felt better before hunting down the bastard herself.
“Hey, I’m real glad you’re okay”, Ashley spoke softly, an absolute sincere tone to her voice as her eyes took in the addictive touch of Roxy’s features. It was a haunting face that bothered her dreams in the best ways, a constant reminder how lucky Ashley was to have stumbled onto their little hideout in the middle of an abandoned building.
Ashley stood up for a second, hung out of the door with a graceful sway and swept her gaze over the faces for Cole’s. “Cole’s probably out getting a breath of fresh air”, she muttered softly turning back into the room and closing the door behind her for a little more privacy. She didn’t appreciate the curious glances and worried sympathy from the people who ran the place. Roxy was alright and that in itself was the best feeling in the entire fucking galaxy.
