Only a few days had passed by since she kicked William out of their bed to spend the rest of his nights on the couch. Nicole hated it, but she was starting to get to the end of her rope with him. Her patience she was so prided on was being tested in a way she had never thought possible. But because she loves him, she doesn't want to leave him. A sigh left her lips as she adjusted her outfit. She was gonna go out tonight whether he liked it or not.
Putting on her red pumps she fixed up her hair and makeup and smiled. "Time to have some fun tonight." She spoke to herself as she picked up her purse and headed out the bedroom. "I'm going out, don't wait up." She said sweetly as she grabbed her keys to the apartment and walked out the door. She didn't wait to hear his reaction, she didn't see him looking her up and down.
Going down the elevator she was starting to regret wearing this dress. It was making her self-conscious, but she shook her head. She wanted to get his attention and if dressing like this would do it, then so be it. Nicole hadn't taken this to Lulu at all. She already had enough on her plate as it was.
Getting out of the elevator she began walking out to the taxi she had waiting outside. Pulling out the address of the bar she wanted to visit she heard the ding of the other elevator and the familiar scent of iron. She felt a firm hand wrap around her arm and she jerked away. "I'm going out whether you like it or not. You can come with if you want, otherwise I'll see you at home." She shrugged as her brown eyes peered into his cold vacant ones. Getting into the taxi she closed the door and gave the address.
Getting to the bar she hadn't really expected so see such large doors or windows. It looked just as upscale in the pictures she had found. Paying the driver and getting out she could see the different colored lights. She saw William's car pulling in as she walked up to the door. Hearing her name with a slamming car door she ignored it and went in.
Looking around she walked over to the bar where a blonde woman and her husband sat, everyone else looked a little older, but they gave her appreciative glances. One in particular got up, standing like a giant among them. His steps were heavy as he walked on over and smiled down kindly at her. "Well, you're a face I haven't seen before." He said as he took the seat next to her.
He had dirty blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. His muscles seemed to almost not fit underneath the fabric of his shirt. "Moved here a month ago. Haven't really been able to make a mark yet. I'm Nikki." She said with a smile. "Well, it's lovely to meet you Nikki. I'm Jackson, the owner. Now what's a beautiful woman like you doing out here alone?"
"Oh, not much. Just a guy-" She heard the door open harshly as William walked through. Most of the men in the place paused as they watched him walk in and Nicole rolled her eyes. "Him?" Jackson asked and she confirmed with a nod. There was a bit of sadness in her eyes as she looked over the drink list. "Don't let that smile disappear hon. It makes this room so much brighter." He charmed. Nicole couldn't help but to blush and smile again.

Jackson had lived in New York all his life, and he loved it. At least until he found himself being a single dad and being laid off from work. Thankfully he had found a bar that he worked up the chain to eventual ownership. And he did this all for his little Aliyah. She is the light of his life, and he would do anything to keep her safe and happy. Today though with how many people have been calling in sick with the flu he had to take up a few shifts that ruined his plans with his daughter.
“Now Grace will be here to spend the night with you okay?” He asked kneeling down to get as close to her level as possible. It sucked being so damn tall because of his mutation. But it helped with greater momentum and force when he got going. He couldn’t be all upset about it though being able to see things going wrong from a mile away. “But why daddy? Why can’t you stay home? Mr. Tinkles was looking forward to a tea party with you.” Aliyah’s beautiful blue gaze fell to the ground as she held her stuffed monkey close.
He hated seeing her look so dejected. “Well, daddy doesn’t have enough people at work tonight. I just have to take a few extra shifts this week. But as soon as I’m off I’ll spend all the time I can with you. We can go to the water park okay? Maybe invite some of your friends.” That got her smile to come back and a twinkle sparked in her eyes. Hearing the door bell he let in Grace and left for his day at the bar.
Once at Bad News Bar and Spirits Lounge he began his work for the day. It was probably around eight when the night clubbers were coming in and he switched things over, moving tables of the raised dance floor and just relaxing with his buddies he hired as bouncers. His blue eyes watched over the floor as the door opened and his eyes caught the glimpse of a sexy dress. Looking he couldn't take his eyes off the brunette that walked in.
"I'll be right back guys. keep an eye out." he said and walked over to the bar where she sat. Getting started in conversation was easy for Jackson and it was easy to see she needed a distraction. "Well, you're a face I haven't seen before." He said as he took the seat next to her. "Moved here a month ago. Haven't really been able to make a mark yet. I'm Nikki." She said with a smile. "Well, it's lovely to meet you Nikki. I'm Jackson, the owner. Now what's a beautiful woman like you doing out here alone?"
He watched her eyes as they averted his gaze and he knew something was up. No girl came walking through doors to a bar wearing a dress like that for just drinking. She was looking for attention. "Oh, not much. Just a guy-" She was interrupted by the doors of the bar slamming open. Jackson's eyes turned to see a scrawny male figure walking in. He looked back at Nikki and had an inkling he was here for her. He didn't know what was going on between these two, but he didn't like seeing a woman in distress.
"Him?" He asked and she nodded. "Don't let that smile disappear hon. It makes this room so much brighter." He said complimenting her painted lips. Seeing the smile return with a cute giggle made him smile in return. "There we go." Jackson wasn't worried about the guy walking up. He could take him, and his buddies could help out. Him and his bouncers were all part of the same police force once upon a time. They knew how to beat down a lowlife. "What would you like to drink? It's on the house tonight." He could spare her a drink for the trouble.

William had been kicked out of the bedroom some unknown amount of days ago. Mostly unknown because he either came in drunk or didn't bother coming back and Crashed in a bed at Buster & Sophia's place where there was less emotional drama. At this point he wasn't sure if he was just trying to sabotage his shot with Nicole or if he was really just playing pity me for his own selfish needs. Either way Buster was the closest friend he had next to Johnny.
Though he wasn't going anywhere near Johnny's apartment. That place was a bummer since Lu had kicked him out of their house. It was honestly the first time she had actually went as far as to make him leave. Sure she had killed him numerous time but this time it was different. The dark cloud over that apartment was one that made Williams moody temperament look sunshine and rainbow town.
Tonight William was at home on the couch playing his favorite FPS video game Rainbow six seige. There was a open bottle of Whiskey on the coffee table and the room smelt like a bong. Mostly in his own world his attention only turned when he noticed Nicole in a slutty looking outfit saying she was going out. The thing barely classified as clothing and he was sure a hooker would wear more.
"The fuck you.... Are...." His voice was cold as it spoke up but she was already out the door. Moving over the back of the couch he grabbed his jacket n the way out. By the time he got to the elevators her closed and another opened. Darting in with a very obvious cold look on his face he pushed the button sending him down stairs. She was already head to the door and he grabbed her arm after gaining ground n her with long strides. "Your not going out dressed like a whore."
She jerked her arm away and said she was going whether he wanted it or not. Watching the cab Leave he headed t his truck in the parking garage and turned on the GPS tracker he had programmed into her phone. Pulling up t the bar he found a parking place and fed the meter before heading inside. Mostly to try and keep himself from ending up in jail tonight. If that was even possible with the way his blood was boiling.
The guy at the door outside wanted him t wait in a line but he convinced him otherwise with a few hundreds slid into his hand. William didn't wait and he sure didn't let his girl run around the town like a god damn harlot. Inside the bar he looked around and he found Nicole giggling and smiling at some bartender trying his luck. His eyes spotted the Bouncers around the bar but he didn't consider them a threat "Did you get dressed with the intention of showing off your ass to everyone in New York city? Are you trying out for the lead in Mouse's new film? Nicole does the upper west side? Grab your bag we are going home....NOW!" The words out his Lips were cold and angry as he stood there ignoring the Bartender and others around him.

Even though she hadn’t been out for very long yet Jackson made Nicole feel good. But there was still this voice in her head scolding her for even deciding to flirt with him. It wouldn’t be fair to the big guy, and from how William was sounding already before she left he was pissed at her outfit. She was glad about that because she was too. But his next words as he came up stung a lot.
She wasn’t going to hide the hurt, or the anger as she sat there looking at William’s cold face. With a click of her tongue she turned to him with a scowl on her face. A look she rarely wore. “No, I got dressed with the intention of grabbing your attention. Secondly, being in one of Mouse’s movies would be so much better than just sitting inside a silent film for the rest of my life here. And thirdly, NO!” She glared at him her dark eyes turning cold.
“I mean, do you even really care?” She asked. She knew it was harsh, and her passive aggressive tone wouldn’t make things better but she wanted to honestly know. “Because right now I feel like I don’t belong anymore. You hardly talk to me, you come home smelling like you drank the whole damn liquor store. I have absolutely no clue where I stand with you right now.” She wanted to cry, but she’d done that enough in the last few days muffling it with her pillow.
Why she let herself get this worked up over someone she didn’t completely understand. She wanted to give him so many chances it wasn’t funny. Jackson stood up from his seat and head to behind the bar with a nod of his head to one of his buddies. They’d just keep an eye on them. Make sure nothing too serious happened. “I uprooted my whole life back in Michigan to be with you. Now, if you’ll excuse me.” She turned to Jackson with a smile. “I’ll have a vodka martini please.” She said sweetly. “Anything for the pretty lady.” Jackson smirked and began working on the drink.

It was pretty obvious that he was pissed off at her choice of attire and he didn't care who knew. People were looking at them and he was gonna be the beginning of how the fools get their reputation in new york. She wanted his attention with her little skanky outfit and she surely got it. If she expected him to not hurt her feelings then she definitely chose the wrong man to be with. Willam was always more reserved in life and he expected his girl to be the same. Sure getting dressed up was one thing when she was on his arm but going out like this was a big no-no.
She asked why he even cared and he just stared at her vacantly while she went on and on about feelings. Airing dirty laundry out in public was always a bad idea. Whether you lived in the big city or in a small town setting. At this point he was just so done with all this drama she was wanting to cause. It wasn't worth his time to stand here arguing with her while she was being a stubborn child. "Aight." Was all he would say as she ordered another drink and he turned and walked towards the exit. Bouncers followed him out and he just cracked his neck in the outside air.
Lighting a cigarette he headed to his truck at a parking garage across the street. The valet of the building brought it up for him and he climbed inside as his eyes came to fall on the building in front of him. Gripping the wheel as the smoke filled the truck he revved the engine a bit. The street was clear of traffic and he flicked the butt of the burnt out smoke out the window. finally, his boot slammed on the gas and the truck flew towards the building fast.
One of the bouncers ran in the door in a panic. 'EVERYONE MOVE TO THE BACK!!' A moment or to later the truck came through the wall and hit a support beam which caused it to stop suddenly. The impact should've killed him but he was in his metal form as he kicked the crumpled door open and slid out. All the patrons were towards the back of the bar now as he searched the crowd with a roaming gaze for Nicole. Now she was done drinking and they were going home.
Jackson wasn’t one that jumped into a problem without knowing everything that was going on. The police officer side of him just watched in relative silence. Whoever this guy thought he was, he had no power in this place. He kept his eyes and ears opened as Nicole talked about their problem and Jackson scoffed a little. So he was just being a drunk bastard and left her hanging. ‘She did not think this thing through.’
Jackson was understanding as he looked the guys angry face over. Although his ex wife had been in Nicole’s spot. He mixed together her drink and placed it on a little black napkin. Hearing the simple word from the guy’s mouth he had a bad feeling. He didn’t know what it was, but he’d done enough work in the field that it left a cold chill over his spine. Motioning with his head he watched as his buddies slowly made their way behind the guy.
“You know, I don’t think that was the best thing to do.” Jackson said and it gained a frown from Nicole. “I know… God, this is just messed up. Honestly, I don’t know what i am right now other than a girl he can use for free sex. Like I only have the title of girlfriend.” Jackson crouched down to eye level with Nicole and smiled. “He’s an idiot if he’s doing just that, but how long has it been going on?”
“A month… maybe a month and a half. Since we moved here.” She took a sip of her drink and Jackson nodded his head. “He ever hurt you?” Nicole looked up with surprise at the question and her frown deepened. “Never. He wouldn’t touch me like that. He’s not that kind of guy.” The confidence in which she spoke about it set Jackson at ease a little. At least she wasn’t sticking with a guy that was beating on her, but he still felt unsettled about something. Maybe seeing that reaper smiling back on the guys jacket was just getting to him, or he’d been working for too long.
But everything changed pace when Frankie came running in telling people to move back. “Frankie what the-” Suddenly there was a large boom as a truck came barreling through hitting a metal support beam. Jackson had pulled Nicole over the bar to keep her safe from the rubble. “Fuck!” he yelled. The dust was thick as he breathed and coughed as people screamed. Slowly Jackson got up and helped Nicole to her feet. "You okay?"

It was a bit off putting as William left with a simple word. She bit at her nail as Jackson and her talked, only able to take a single sip of her martini when a man came running in to move back. She froze to the spot a moment before William’s truck came crashing through. She got up, only to be pulled back behind the bar and covered by Jackson's body.
Dust hung in the air, making Nicole cough as she breathed. Jackson lifted up and pulled her to her feet. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." She looked up to see Jackson moving over the bar and helping her over it. "Sorry about all this." Nicole apologized as she made eye contact with William. "Trust me I've dealt with worse." Jackson mentioned, "But I'd get him out of here if I were you."
Giving a curious look to Jackson he only gave a cold glare to William. A sigh left her lips as she walked over to William. She hadn't thought this plan through at all. She was pissed, and she just wanted to get him back for smelling like some other girl. She knew Johnny was having wild parties while he was in his own apartment, but now... it was starting to make her feel so insignificant.
Like she wasn't enough even if he didn't do anything but get lap dances or something similar. Jackson watched them carefully as Nicole grabbed onto William's sleeve. She didn't feel like grabbing the cold metal around his hand. She didn't even look up at him feeling so ashamed and foolish. Tears welled up as she felt for the first time scared to be around him. "Let's go..." her voice was soft as she pulled him towards the doors.
