Ashley was truly and utterly starting to appreciate the charm to the lost, mostly to Roxy but she found the musty, decrepit walls more than comfortable enough to call home. She’d grown overly fond of Roxy, albeit she was intensely intrigued by the constant flirts and witty remarks. To be fair she did have to toss a fridge magnet into Cole’s stomach when he commented on their lustful endeavor. It was fun though, she didn’t intend to hurt him, more of a playful gesture to wipe that smug look off his face. Ashley ducked out of the rickety back door with a shout out to Roxy, she knew the words would echo down the empty halls to those cute little ears she adored, “I’m going for a walk. Be back soon”. She wiped her silver locks from her eyes and opted for a long, albeit sneaky and thieving walk around New York. She pocketed a few wallets for the pure fun of it, another watch or two but the antics grew dull and boring after a while.
She casually made her way down the length of an alley tucked away in the shadows, slid her slim waist onto a low wall and fished the wallets from the backpack slung over her shoulder. She dug out what money she could and tossed the empty leather wallets into an open dustbin in the corner. She turned to look over her shoulder with a slight smile, the decrepit building she’d come to love wasn’t too far out. a few blocks on and a few sharp corners, at least she had a few interesting things she could do back there to keep her busy.
She hopped off the dark colored bricks lining the low wall, stopped for a second to see a sneering little red head blocking the exit. Her eyes flickered to the small heap of wallets tucked into the garbage and then to Ashley. Hell, the last thing Ashley expected was one of her targets to follow. she had half a mind to slap her own head for being so amateurishly horrible at something she usually thrived at.
“That little pickpocket dick, he ran that way though”, Ashley shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly pointing a slender finger towards the slim pathway. She felt her lips slip into a light pout at the disbelieving look crossing over the red head’s features.
“Okay fine, you can take it back. Its fucking ugly anyway”, Ashley tucked her finger towards the direction of the metal dumpster and nudged it towards the red head. She half expected the girl to duck away in confusion and fear at the almost spooky shift of the large bin.
“You’re a mutant, huh? I haven’t had a good fight in a long time”, Ashley’s brows knit together in amusement for a second before ducking underneath the raging ball of fire flying overhead. ‘Perfect, fucking perfect’, Ashley shoved the garbage can towards the red head much to the dismay of the young teenager racing off with wide eyes, a silent scream and his skateboard tucked under his arm.
“Talk about hotheaded, calm down darling. Take the wallet and leave, I am”, Ashley saluted the girl with blatant mock written over her sharp features before sprinting down the changing landscape. She wasn’t far from the more rusted, abandoned parts of town and it became evident in the lack of faces peering into the small maze of alley ways that interlinked and bled into that decrepit part of town.
Ashley ducked underneath the blazing fire tossed at her head every second minute, she wasn’t really thinking as she led the angry stranger back to the building she’d come to call home. She stopped abruptly outside realizing how dangerous it was leading the red head back to Roxy and the others, turning around it was almost too late and she barely willed the magnetic field of protection to her when a burst of flames tossed her through the wobbly front door.
She craned her head back and yelled into the halls with a nervous laugh, “Hey babe! I think I fucked up!”, she lifted to her feet seconds before the stranger stepped inside. She held out her hands with a nonchalant shrug, “let bygones be bygones?”. She was slightly taken aback by the playful glint to the red head’s intense glare.
“You think I’d chase you seven blocks for a wallet. Where’s the watch?”, Ashley couldn’t help the mischievous lie slipping out of her lips with the greatest of ease. “Oh that, well I lost that about three blocks in”, Ashley shoved a magnetic force field towards the red head with enough force to send her stumbling back outside. Thank God she wasn’t entirely a maniac, there were sickos everywhere these days.
Roxy stood on the roof looking out of the the decay of the city. Everything crumbling, everything a just a little bit stained with the pathetic touch of urban blight. The wind blew her hair around as she took a puff of her cigarette. It was a nasty habit but what was she worried about? Cancer? She swam in posion mold. She didn't think cancer was going to be the thing that did her he in. Destiny didn't have a strong sense of irony. Her arm was tucked up under her elbow as the light on the city skyline twinkled to life. The dipping blues and dark purples of the setting sun giving life to the city of night. She was quite at peace until she saw Ashley running for her freaking life. She could tell that silver hair anywhere. It was a like a calling card. She watched with panic as she saw fire chasing her. Fire tossed by an extremly pissed off princess.
Tossing her cigarette over the side of the building with a thoughtless flick she turned her hips and burst through the roof door. Down the steps taking them two at a time and through the door that seperated her from the lobby. She could feel the anger swelling up in her, though it relaxed a little when she heard the joking tune of her girlfriend. Her mind a blazing blur. Breath refused to run regular. Her eyes boucning around the scene before her. "What the fuck did you do?" She almost wanted to laugh at the accusational tone in her voice. Like she had already sided with the stranger over her own girlfriend, but she knew that smirk.
Ashley had done something. Roxy's eyes flicked to the new figure in the doorway, or the figure that was in the doorway. She let out a little gasp as the woman was flung from the entrance like a dog scratching a flea. Flicked away like a hamrless insect. Roxy hurriedly helped Ashely up. Her hair was in a ponytail and her legs spilled over the tightness of short shorts. Fishnet stockings, leather boots and they said that Roxy had no fashion sense.
"Get behind me mama." Roxy said, her tone less asking and more so telling as she pushed the one thing she cared about to the safety of her protection. Mold crawled along the walls in front of the shabby double doors and took shape. Comically in the shape of two large hands that grasped the handles and ripped them open. The last of the dying sunlight kissed the dusty cemenet steps just outside. Roxy's eyes were black and souless as she stepped outside. She eyed the young mutant. "You know...If you were looking for a place to stay the night, barbequing the landlord's girlfriend probably wasn't the best first step."
Her lips were firm as she stared at her. She turned around as she saw more people spilling out of the doorway. Wreckshop and Cole stood by gawking. "Woa. Anyone hurt?" Cole asked. " Wreckshop walked outside. There was a confident swagger to her seductive swaying hips. "Only my feelings if red here doesn't say yes to a date." McKenzie, or Wreckshop as The Lost knew her as walked right up to the redhead on the ground. She extended her hand and a coy smile to accompany it.
"Come on cutie. That ass has got better things it could be doing than sitting on the ground." With a wink she seized her hand and yanked her to her feet. Wreckshop had on a light jean jacket and a miniskirt. Her hair was wild, curly and free and her make up was done. Yeah, she snuck out. Hit up a walgreens and stole a few cosmetic things. If she was going to be stuck in this shitbox she wanted to at least look nice. Besides, Cole wasn't much of a guardog. He fell asleep playing his stupid ass video games and she basically walked out while the building was still threatening to collapse on them all.
Wrechshop leaned an elbow on Andromeda's shoulder. "These guys? They're assholes, I'm kind of crashing here... But you should see my other place on Staten Island." She was full of shit. She had no other place, she had never had a home that wasn't an abandoned building on a prison cell. Wreckshop smiled and leaned into Andromeda's ear. "Whatever they did to you....I could do.....So......much......worse." She allowed her tongue to dance and flick a little at the last word and she walked away back inside ligthing a cigarette. If she was going to be stuck here, and let's face it at the moment she didn't have alot of better options then these guys; she might as well tempt flirtation and try and have a little fun.
Roxy watched the confident way the girl headed back into the dark confines of the apartment. She all but broke the tension of the moment with .... Well, whatever that was. She headed upstairs and felt fine if the girl didn't follow. She was dying for a little fun and excitment and Roxy knew all too well what that felt like. Shaking her head a bit Roxy turned back to Ashley. "Someone please fill me the fuck in!!!"

Ashley rolled her eyes at the light undertone of accusation littering Roxy’s tone, she shrugged her shoulders with a façade of innocence wrapped up in her gaze, “Sure you wanna go with that tone?”. She felt the soft tug of a laugh drip through her lips, her fingers grasped onto Roxy’s shoulders and pushed to her feet with a soft grunt. She was pretty sure a bruise dipped in the skin of her shoulder but that was a problem for another time. Ashley’s gaze travelled up the length of Roxy’s figure, nonchalant regardless of the red head fuming just outside the door, “you look fucking gorgeous today”. A wink tugged at her eye for a second before obliging to Roxy’s request and ducking behind the brunette with one hand resting on the prominence of her hip and the other casually waving to the intense gaze of the red head glaring from the ground.
She still admired the black touch of mold that happily complied to Roxy’s command, she chuckled softly at the comical hands ripping open the doors, she wiggled her brows playfully at the red head sprawled out on her ass. Ashley was well aware that her snappy comments and absolute nonchalance in the face of just about anything was the reason for most of the trouble she ended up in. She appreciated the bold protective gesture from Roxy, she’d thank her in a more appropriate manner when they didn’t have a small audience.
Ashley would have added a little unique wit to Roxy’s daring introduction to the young mutant, hell, she might have skipped right to a passionate show of happiness at the title of girlfriend. Still, Cole distracted her from the interaction unfolding in front of her. “Well, my ego partly but that’ll heal”, her brow lifted in smug appreciation of Wreckshop’s confident saunter. She looked to Roxy for a second, almost admiring the new addition’s hefty set of balls in the face of a stranger.
Wreckshop wasn’t an unattractive young girl and Ashley hadn’t ever been shy about what she liked but since she’d met Roxy there wasn’t another soul on earth that held her interests so deeply anchored. She didn’t want anyone else, she didn’t need anyone else either. Ashley was somewhat stunned at the unusual turn of events, still, she preferred the lack of fire licking after her flesh hungry for blood.
The thick tension littering the air broke free in light of wreckshop’s unique introduction to the new girl, Ashley turned set her palms on her hips with a look of mock hurt crashing over her features. “I did absolutely nothing wrong, I’m an innocent victim in all this”, she turned with a cocky smirk to the defiant groan from the red head behind them. “Fine, here’s the wallet”, Ashley dug the wallet out of her bag and tossed it to the red head. She hadn’t seen the engraving before, it was obviously a special keepsake.
Ashley shrugged her shoulders looking back to Roxy with a charming grin and a playful glint to her gaze, “so maybe I fucked up a little”, she chuckled softly as if everything around her was simply another game that she could master. A playful wink slipped past her lips as she tugged at the special little piercing, if only to distract from her royal fuckup.
“We good?”, she turned to the red head with a nonchalant shrug and a charming smile hoping not to meet the red hot touch of another bundle of flames. Still, she felt pretty confident in her abilities to fend off the red headed fire breather.
Any other item and Andi wouldn’t have given half a shit but it was her father’s watch with his initials engraved along the back. Normally people didn’t get one over on her, still, she appreciated a good pickpocket when she saw one. Her feet carried her down the bending alleyways with balls of flaming energy dancing in her palms until she tossed it, sadly the silver haired mutant was harder to hit than she thought. The last thing she really expected was being tossed back out of the decrepit building on her ass, she supposed it was some sort of karma for abandoning her brother after reuniting for the first time in years.
While it was a whole new surprise seeing the black eyes of an auburn stranger stalk out of the front door with the magnetic stranger in tow she was more stunned to hear people were actually occupying the seemingly abandoned building. She wasn’t normally silent when witty remarks danced on the tip of her tongue like a second instinct but she wasn’t sure what exactly she’d stepped in. more people slipped out of the woodwork and she found herself pressing the flat skin of her palm against the rough ground watching them all with a curious stare.
Andi’s fingers bathed in the flickering light of red hot flames as a young stranger with a vibrant energy about her and curly hair framing a pretty face sauntered up to her. She bent her knees ready to spring to her feet should she make a run for it, either towards the bunch of strangers with flames licking her fingers and burning their flesh or away from danger towards the safety of a crowd. ‘fuck running’, she wouldn’t leave her father’s watch. It was too special to leave behind.
Andi wasn’t sure how to react to the outstretched palm facing her, when she was sure the girl didn’t pose a threat she willed the flames into a dull warmth radiating through her skin and reached out to accept wreckshop’s offer. “No argument here”, she welcomed the balance of her feet to the ground with a slight smile and dusted the dirt from the back of her pants with an annoyed glance at the silver haired mutant.
Her eyes looked from the elbow balancing on her shoulder to the curly locks framing her soft features with an intrigued glare, girl had more balls than most men these days and she had to give points for the effort. “Sure the place won’t cave in on you?”, her tone was serious with a hint of playful mischief as she glanced at the broken touches to the decrepit building. Her brows knit together at blatant seduction laced in the girl’s every word. In another life time she’d probably be all over that but for the time being her focus refocused on the mutant that took the watch.
At the mention of feign innocence she couldn’t help but groan aloud, a groan coated in annoyance and sarcasm. Still, she couldn’t help but bury the hatchet at the cold metal touch of the watch impacting with her open palm. “Yeah, we’re good”, she rolled her eyes at the strangeness of the encounter and looked up to the tall building coated in a unique taste of broken perfection.
“So what, this place is a weird ass motel for thieves and mutants?”, she shot a pointed glare at Ashley with a playful hint that she wasn’t entirely serious. But still, she could do with a roof over her head for a few days. She didn’t have much on her besides a stolen credit card and her father’s watch.
Moving up the lingering stairs she had a hard time not smiling. The gist of a smile still painted on her pale lips she felt good. It felt good to spread her wings and walk on the wild side a little. The stairs groaned under her weight even though she weighed only 25 pounds but these stairs were old and breaking down. Wreckshop stretched her arm out and it kept stretching. Impossibly far her arm reached until her elastic fingers wrapped around the railing. She stretched and pulled the elasticity in her arm and shot herself up like a rubber band wound to tightly.
She flew up the rest of the way landing instantly on the third story landing. She was just outside Cole's room. She pushed the door open and stepped inside. He had a second bedroom in his squared little apartmennt. She needed her own digs. She scooped up her bags from by the door and slipped it over he shoulders. Moving down the hall she found a room of her own and dropped her shit. Closing the door behind her she locked it. Finally some fucking privacy.
She looked around at the shabby furiniture and shrugged. "Home sweet hell." She sighed. Moving to the window she could see out at the little group of mutants down below. Her eyes lingered on the redhead a moment before she grabbed the cord and closed the partially broken blinds. Dust lingered in the air and she plopped on the couch without a care in the world. Looking around the room she got a little self consious. She hadn't had this much room to herself in awhile.
Rooming with Cole wasn't going to cut it because half the time she wanted to slap him. She rubbed her arm a little feeling a bit cold. "It's alright McKenzie. Just stick with these guys until you figure out what the fuck you're going to do. Then everything will be all peaches and gravy." She said snuggling herself into the lumpy cushions and turning her back to the door. It wasn't long before she was asleep.
Cole stood at the edge of the entrance. As Wreckshop walked passed him he only stared at her. As she disappeared inside he quietly stuttered. "I...I l-love you." Cole was a bit of an idiot. He was sort of a clown, but he was funny and sweet and always reliable. He would flirt with just about anything that moved, but his luck was always just not in the cards. Cole slipped back inside the shadows of the doorway and just watched the standoff. He waited until he was sure that there was going to be no bloodshed before his body finally relaxed.
Tingling, dancing waves of red electricity moving between his outstretched finger tips. "Roxy, Maybe she's lost...." Cole said quietly, from his spot by the door. He was always the voice of reason in Roxy's ear. The second in command in this commandless ship. They were lost. That was the point. They didn't conform the the rules of a society they didn't believe in. They didn't have jobs. They didn't care about what was normal. They only cared about living free. Cole's lightning died away.
The influence of his electricity nothing more than a slight tingle in the tips of his fingers. "I'm Cole." He said to the redhead with a what's up head nod. Like things couldn't have gotten any more awkward. He smiled at her and waited for Roxy to give the okay. She jerked her head in his direction letting him know she was fine. Cole was her backup. Sure there was Ashley, but before Ashley came along it was always Cole who had her back.
He still did, they were family. He saw Roxy as a big sister. With that Cole headed back inside to leave them too whatever. He headed backupstairs to the confines of his room. All the while wondering if they were getting a new addition to the family. He couldn't complain. They were all female and they were all not hard on the eyes. He thought with a smirk.
The wind picked up. It was getting chilly out. Roxy's muscles wanted to shiver in the wake of the bracing wind, but she stood tall and firm. Well, tall for her short stature. Roxy let Cole leave. It was sweet of him to have her back after all these years. Roxy had been with Cole for years now.
At least two or three. She lived with him back in Chicago when they were both crapping out in an abandoned school and now they made their way to New York. Through a random series of circumstances and other events they ended up here. She reached over when she felt the comforting presence of Ashley behind her. She hadn't honestly spoken to her about the gf word, but she wasn't running for the hills.
She smiled a little, she couldn't help it. Her hand reached down and into the familiar warmth of her lover's hand. She had gotten better at pretending not to notice when Ashley's influence pulled at fragile metal unseen. Or at least she thought she did. Every time she did, Roxy didn't realize her eye did a little twitchy thing where it looked like it wanted to blink, but just couldn't quite get there. Roxy stood at the forefront of kindness and courtesy.
She didn't have to offer this girl a place to stay, but it was Cole's subtle reminder that reminded her who they were. They were lost. They welcome the lost. It didn't matter if you were friendly, mean or even honestly deadly. It was lost rules. The only rule honestly. The code they lived by... You get lost together, you find hope together, but you stay together. The lost was an underground thing.
Very niche. New on the horizon. There were several Lost tribes popping up all over the country, each ran a little differently depending on who found themselves in charge. They weren't novel by any stretch of the imagination. They were like a club, only they didn't regulate and they didn't interact with the other chapters of the same club. Roxy sighed. "Come on hun. You might have tried to fry my chick here..." Roxy said squeezing Ashley's hand. "But you're welcome to stay with us. We are The Lost...." She turned her head to the sound of an obnxious slow clap. She frowned. She recognized that ugly coat.
"Lovely speech there darlin. A bit touchy at the end, but who am I to say?" Roxy crossed her arms against her modest chest. "I don't remember inviting you." She said harshly. "Why all the hostility love? I gave you... A simple job to do. Well, maybe not simple... But for you lot? Piece of pie! And..... You. Didn't. Disa.Point!" He said poking Roxy on the end of her nose. He was walking around her now in circles. As if he was a shark swimming in the water with minnows.
Leaning into Roxy's ear he whispered. "You coulda left a few of me men alive though." He smirked and reached up and grabbed a few strands of Roxy's hair and sniffed it. He made a face that seemed displeased and turned his head to notice the redhead. "Ello! Who's this poppet? You keep some very interesting company my dear. Did you know.... These fine people were mutants?" Dylan said lighting a cigarette. He was aware of Ashley too. He was no slouch. "I think they're trying to recruit ya lass." Dylan was all smiles.
"Leave her alone!" Roxy demanded. She was getting tired of his shit. She didn't know the redhead, but she swam to her defense like a mama bear plucking a cub from a rough stream. Dylan moved back over to Roxy and placed his hands on her shoulders. He started giving her an unwanted, creepily intimate shoulder massage. "All I wants to know is.... Where's the girl. Tell me. And I'll be out of your hair. You did want to get paid for today didn't ye? Bonus if you managed to nab any of the other mutants, but i doubt it. Calcifer is a shifty devil. He wasn't likely to stick around with you tossers very long. So how's bout it? You got the girl?" Dylan said pulling out a stack of bills and flipping through them under his nose. He breathed in the smell of money. He breathed in the smell of loyalty.

Ashley found herself smiling on the change of demeanor from Roxy, she was drawn to these people for their unique charm as the lost, those who had nowhere to turn but with each other. Her lips tilted into a happy grin watching the red head ponder the thought, she saw the words build on the tip of the new comers tongue, she half expected her to take them up on the offer. Until she turned her head to the abrupt slow clap of a tall, lean asshole clad in an obnoxious trench coat. She set her free hand onto the curve of her hip with a glare, she didn’t trust the look of him.
She could feel Roxy tense up, it made her worry for a brief second in time but the conversation led her to believe the two knew each other. She kept quiet for a while, taking the flow of words fully to her mind and raking through the new information. She felt her fingers tug at the magnetic steel supports of the building, this time she used her gradually boiling anger in place of a playful sexual endeavor’s passionate rush.
Every second he spent too close to Roxy drove her fingers into a furious fist by her side, wreckshop was one of them, she was a mutant torn down by the world’s rough waters trying to shake their kind from existence. There was no way in hell she’d stand by to toss a mutant to this arrogant fuck, he was burning through her normally carefree demeanor to a dark side no one wanted to meet, she was more dangerous than she let on when a threat involved the people the cared about.
Ashley chuckled at the red head’s almost violent response, she watched the new comer blow the cigarette from his fingers with a hot little ball of compact fire. It was absolute gold, the girl had balls, she wasn’t afraid to stand up to the asshole either and that in itself left a grin on Ashley’s lips. Ashley felt her shoulders tense at the sight of him rubbing his greedy little hands all over Roxy’s shoulders, she didn’t give a shit about the stack of bills or the bullshit he uttered. Instead she looked to Roxy, shook her head subtly and held an open palm towards the heap of garbage in the corner.
Ashley willed every single steel pipe and offcut that bent to her will, held them steady afloat and pointing towards the tall cocky bastard, she hoped Roxy would forgive her for fucking up a good deal worth a lot of money.
“Touch her again and I’m cutting off that little thing you call a dick”, Ashley gestured to Roxy with a shoulder placed protectively towards the girl she’d grown to care about more than she’d prefer to admit. “I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for is you dig far enough up your ass. Get the hell out of here before I play darts with that fucking thing you call a face”, she stood in front of Roxy in case her angry approach ended up tossing them into a new disaster they didn’t plan for.
Ashley glanced at Roxy over her shoulder with a subtle nod to the red head who put some space between herself and the tall asshole sprouting a ton of nonsense. The steel shuddered harshly under her concentration, every second he spent in her peripheral was a second longer she contemplated murdering the bastard on the spot.
Dylan didn't know these mutants. Not personally. He heard whispers when blowing into town from Detroit that there was a lost tribe here. The lost were a nuisance. They traveled around and never stayed in one spot for too long. They were usually rebellious assholes who would put the boots to agents if they had more than a few members at a time. Still, they stirred up trouble wherever they could.
The one thing about The Lost was... They were usually homeless. It's amazing what a man's willing to do when he's dying of thirst. Or in this case a woman. Money talks and for the right price you could usually get a mutant to do just about anything for you. In this case the prize was simple. Political. Genius. Pay a bunch of muties to high jack a trasport truck? Free their own kind and even pay them for it?!? Why would they turn that down? Dylan wasn't the bad guy here. He wasn't a good guy. But he certainly wasn't the bad one
. He smirked at the shift in tone. Suddenly Roxy became very quiet. She knew more about this man that he thought. She knew where he came from and what he was. She was hoping he was just a disgruntled worker. Tired of G.A.D.E.M.'s shit and looking to strike back. That wasn't the case. Instead what she got was a sadistic fuck with a hidden agenda. She didn't want to hand over the girl when she had no idea what he was planning to do with her. Dylan lit a cigarette and smiled at the girls. What a lovely bunch of lasses.
He shook his head slightly. Too bad their genese were all fucked up. They would actually make some pretty cute children together. Of course the bloody things would probably have 10 eyes and crawl around on the ceiling, but hey! That's life. He regarded their beauty as a waste of skin and soft flesh and nothing more. Exhaling a cloud of smoke he sighed and rolled his shoulders back. Dylan happened to look up at the window and saw the cute bouncy hair of his sole purpose here. He smiled at her, though only briefly.
He didn't want to tip his hand that he knew. Instead his smile rolled into a fake laugh as he turned around back to the redhead. "You know.... I bet with a little training. You mutants could almost be like pets. Maybe, not sure if you are potty trained. Can you play fetch?" His tone was overly joyful and optimistic sounding. His pitch rose at the end of his smug sentence. Then it changed to tired cranky and annoyed. "Someone go fetch me the fucking girl." He tossed the bills at Roxy's feet. Undignified.
She'd have to bend down and pick it up like the begger she was. Mutant trash. He thought bitterly. Just then his cigarette exploded in a ball of fire singing his hand. He shook his hand viverently and looked around. "Okay.... Fun trick! HAHA That was a goooood one!" He said wagging a finger at the redhead. "So you're a mutant too huh? What do they call you? Sparky?" That smug arrogant fuck had his pearly whites shining her her face. The smug smile grinning ear to ear and displaying all his teeth. Someone should knock them out. The whole last few minutes, since his sensual massage had ended.
Dylan had a curious hand stuffed into the pocket of his trench coat. The silver haired vixen started spouting off at the lip. He turned his head back and cast a look at Ashley. A look that said you're treading on dangerous ground sweetheart. Then a smile broke over his face. He left his cigarette burning on the ground. Casually stepping on it and squeezing out the life of the ember with the tow of his fancy dress shoe. "Love....You're playing with fire." He turned back to the redhead with a wink. "No pun intended sugar tits." Dylan knew the girl he needed was here. He turned his back on Ashley and Roxy.
Staring up at the twinkling sky he sighed and stuffed his hand into his pocket to join it's fellow. "Such a beautiful sky. The sun shines down on us all. Man and mutant alike. Though when those godly rays kiss upon you skin it does so in irony." He looked back over his shoulder again. "Heaven's majesty wasn't intended for the likes of you." He squinted as clouds rolled in and it was beginning to look like rain. Roxy's fists were balled up she had about enough of this asshole. No deal. "She's not here. You got shit in your ears, or you just fucking stupid?" Dylan chuckled. "Then you wouldn't mind me searching the building." He said without turning around.
Roxy's eyes bled black and a vicious tendril of black mold whipped in his direction. She was going to wrap it around his neck and swim it down his throat so he choked on the bubbling black death. Only it stopped. An invisible forcefield lit like the sheen of polished silver. There was crack sound that was thunderous almost as if the storm clouds allowed the thunder loose a little early. Dylan spun on his heels. The mother fucker was standing in a forcefield. He pulled his hand from his pocket. There as small circular mirror in his hand. Crushed to pieces with blood dripping from the jagged shards. "Oooooooh don't give me that look. I'm not a mutant. I'm just a damn fine witch. Blood magic. And a bit of a shattered mirror spell. I'm protected loves. Care to toss another fireball sparky? I thought not."
Dylan moved up closer to Roxy. She glared at him with the horrific knowledge that she couldn't touch him. "Tell ya what. I like it rough and rowdy on occasion. How's about you and ye little girlfriend here give the old knob a good shine. I'll have to wash after, but I'm sure i could be persuaded to look the other way just this once ya know?" He winked at Ashly now. He had no intention of leaving without his prize though he reveled in the chance to humiliate them just a little further. During this little circus act Wreckshop had grown flustered on her lumpy couch and snuck out again. Bouncing from the top story window and clear across the field. She was miles away now.
He walking up to Ashley he sprinkled the bits of broken shards around his feet. "Cominah! Alamenda Rockshoona-KA KA palleybrighten!" A whisk of white energy pulsed from his feet and shot outward around him. The white light flew over the building and across the accomanying fields. It was a location spell. He knew what way she was heading Thunder chased the cloud against the sky. He smiled. "Hm... What do you know. The girl's not here after all." He smirked and his eyes flitted up to the top floor window. Wreckshops window. Dylan pulled out a pistol and aimed it behind him. His arm extended straight back. Pointing directly at Andromeda's forehead. "I'LL TAKE MY CONSOLATION PRIZE THEN!" He shouted and pulled the trigger. Sending a sleeping dart straight into the center of the young girl's forehead. As she collasped he smiled brighter. "Would you look at that... Looks like rain." He commented standing in the midst of a light sprinkle.

“Go fuck yourself”, Ashley despised the cocky asshole from the second he called them pets. Hell she’d lick and scratch for the fun of a good time but that didn’t make her a fucking animal, neither did being genetically different. Fuck, she never even had anything against humans but the tall dick with sass made her hate his kind more with every second passing in his presence. Ashley watched him toss the bills to Roxy’s feet, she had enough of his shit. Her anger was boiling, not the playful anger she tossed to the red head when they ran into each other but the kind of anger that made her bring an entire building in on itself a few years back.
Andi’s face lit up in a cocky smirk, she wasn’t bothered by the asshole’s wagging finger. “Call me sparky and we’ll see how it goes”, she offered him a quick, confident wink and grew a flaming ball of energy in the palm of her hand with a menacing heat dancing from it’s red hot margins. She contemplated tossing a stream of fire into his pearly whites but she just met these people, as much as she liked shutting down dicks with pride she didn’t want to bring down unwanted attention on herself or people who were kind enough to offer her a place to sleep. Mutant nonetheless, her kind, and these days it seemed mutants needed to stand together or they’d all be snatched up by fucking GADEM.
Ashley met his words with a confident stride, set her flat palm against his chest and pushed him back with the energy a small force of her magnetic force field. “I’m not afraid to burn asshole, how do you feel about being impaled?”, every word out of his mouth was dipped in the largest tub of bullshit. Ashley turned around, forced two steel beams to her will from an unfinished project still just a skeleton of unbuilt architecture, she forced them into the ground with a heavy tug and blocked off the entrance to the building. He wasn’t going anywhere near wreckshop, or any of them for that matter.
She stood by Roxy’s side, impressed at the strength of the vicious tendril whip towards the bastard only to be stopped by something invisible. It resembled her own forcefield, perhaps not in method but it did the same damn thing. “I’m gonna shove a pipe through that big ass mouth of yours hocus pocus”, Ashley was getting ready to retaliate, she was out for blood. This fucker would bleed out by her feet if she had anything to say about it.
Ashley leaned back with an incredulous sigh, this asshole was the peak of arrogance and he loved every damn second of it. “Tell you what, I’ll give it a real good shine, right after I cut it off and feed it to you love”, she forced a tinge of his accent onto the tip of her tongue. She didn’t scare easily, hell, she didn’t get angry easily but this guy was hitting all the right buttons to make her furious. She stood back at the strange incantation, watched the blinding light fly through the sky like a beacon. Her eye grew wider realizing what the bastard was up to.
Andromeda kept her flame busy, it wouldn’t hit the guy yet but as soon as that force field died down she’d burn the skin right off those skinny bones. The last thing she expected was the soft sting of a dart penetrating her skin, she stumbled on her feet for a few seconds before feeling the inevitable tug of unconsciousness draw her into a deep slumber.
“Enough!”, Ashley’s voice was loud and dangerous as she turned to face Roxy, she grabbed the brunette’s cheek in her palm and embraced her with a brief, passionate kiss. “Take red, get the others and meet me out back. I got this’, she whispered the words softly so the tall lanky asshole wouldn't hear. There was a silver tint to Ashley’s eyes as she focused more power into her magnetic control. She turned around with a smug glance, shrugged her shoulders and pulled every shard of metal to her.
“I’ve had enough of your bullshit, if I can’t kill you with that whole fancy forcefield of yours I’ll fucking bury you”, she winked quickly shoving metal poles into the ground around him. she didn’t care about killing him anymore, instead she wanted to get the hell away from him and his unique brand of crazy. Ashley shoved various metal pipes and offcuts from the skeleton of a building into the ground around him. She could feel the ground shake beneath her feet, her face lit up in a smirk. There was no way in hell she’d let him hurt the others, she supposed the only reason she felt so heroic was because of a deep rooted need to protect Roxy above all else. something she hadn’t experienced in a very long time.
Suddenly Ashley was calling the shots. Roxy felt ashamed that she had frozen in a moment of panic. She wasn't thinking clearly. Clearly she allowed this asshole to get under her skin, but he was just so so good at it. He strived to be repulsive in every way imaginable. Roxy should have never made this deal with him. She wished she could just go back in time and take it all back. Ashley told her to run. Like fuck she was going to run.
She watched and stubbornly planted her feet. "If you think I'm leaving you with this asshole you're seriously FUCKED in the head Ash." She glared at Dylan. The sick fuck had already displayed a few otherworldly abilities. She had no idea what he was capable of really. She should have done her homework before crawling in bed with the devil. Roxy glared at Dylan. Dylan smiled back. "Take your time loves." He checked his watch.
"I've got about 2 minutes to spare." It came off as sarcasm but the asshole was looking for an exit. His shifty eyes scanned all around him. He hadn't expected to get closed in here and his arrogant ass came in here without backup. Usually Dylan had backup plans. He had back up plans for his back up plans's back up plans. He was just smart and sneaky and always one step ahead. Now he could feel the blood in his hand trickle less fluidly. When the blood stopped completely his force field would die away.
Roxy stood there at the edge of madness and reason. She knew what Ashley said made sense and she could tell she was powerful. From the determined glint in her eye to the forceful reckoning of the building's foundation that seemed to shiver in her presence. Roxy knew she was powerful. Roxy was powerful too, but she didn't tempt fate and luck with the promise of bloodshed. She didn't flaunt her ego in the face of the smart play. "Ashley let's go." She grabbed her arm and whispered more so so Dylan couldn't hear her.
"We have to find that girl." She knew it was right. And they should find some other place to live. Gadem had this place compromised and it wasn't smart to stick around though they were lost. This was their home. Roxy would defend it to her dying breath as a point of pride and liberal expression. "Look gals. It's been real fun. But I tell ya what. You keep the money. My parting gift to you charming, charming lasses." He took a little bow and turned to leave. Roxy was tempted to just let the asshole walk. They could race him to find Wreckshop. If she really had ran for it then they had to get ears on the ground and search the city. She could be anywhere.
Roxy was tempted to let him leave when she saw a flicker in his force field. It had reamined visible since the moment she first discoverd it and now it flicked. She whipped a black vine of slick slippery mold. It broke through his force field and shattered it like pale glass. Roxy smirked. "Going somewhere asshole?" She allowed the coy playful tone of her sweet revenge to sing on her lips. It sounded sweet. It sounded like heaven. All her problems were about to be over. The tendril slipped under his arm dancing, creeping and slithering it's way quickly up his shoulder and around his neck. The black dripping ooz was slightly solid and thick with tiny particulates like dust mites that floated into the air.
Roxy lifted him into the air off his feet. Dylan's feet kicked and swung. Fuck. I fucked up. He thought. Why in blazes did i have to be so fucking cocky. I should have followed the girl out the moment she left. He was so used to his sneaky tricks that he forgot he wasn't untouchable. He was very, very touchable. Roxy's tendril brought him hovering over a steel pipe that Ashley had planted in the ground.
"What was that Ashley? You said something about impaling? Sounds fun." Dylan kicked and screamed. He started to mumble some more of that latin shit but Roxy's tentical got tighter around his throat so he couldn't utter another smug word. "What are you planning to do with the girl?!? Spill it!" Roxy Demanded. Dylan took his chances with the pole below him and pulled his tranq gun and shot Roxy too. It hit her in the chest. She felt faintish almost instatnly. She felt her grip on him loosen and he felt 10 feet and got a busted ankle.
He missed his own doom though thankfully. Dylan stood up and started to sprint for the fence as fast as he could limp. Fuck taking any mutants back with him he had to get out of here. Roxy collapsed into Ahsley's arms. Her eyes falling closed in a graceful, peaceful sleep as Dylan ran for his life.

Ashley was blinded by rage and anger, she hardly even registered the worried touch or the urging words that left Roxy’s lips. She didn’t want to go, she wanted to fuck up the arrogant bastard who didn’t know when he was out of his league. “We won’t have to rush finding her if he’s dead”, Ashley spared Roxy an apologetic glance for the rough tone to her voice. She didn’t want to be rude or awful to Roxy, none of this was her fault – it was Dylan’s and she’d sure as hell stick around long enough to see him shit his pants.
She knew vengeance and wrath wasn’t’ always the smartest choice but she sure as hell enoyed the sight of Roxy’s moldy vine breaking the force field like glass. Bastard was in over his head and she was willing to bet the heat of his actions were beginning to bleed into that arrogant head of his. Ashley slung an arm around Roxy’s waist, a pride cocky shift to show Dylan what he had to keep his grabby little hands away from but also a bold move in a victory that wasn’t set in stone.
She found herself winking up at the asshole as he thrashed against the dark slither of mold strangling the last bit of air from his lungs. He’d be out of reserves soon and it was more than enough to make her laugh loudly at his predicament, “would you look at that? That hocus pocus crap didn’t do shit for you asshole”, she waved a finger towards him, the steel around her vibrated to the draw of her emotions but they didn’t relent, they were still willing participants to draw blood at her every command.
“Let’s tear a pretty little hole through that bastard’s mugshot”, Ashley readied an open palm to the pole with a smug grin lingering on her lips. She hardly had it pulled out from the concrete it impales when she heard the soft thud of a dart impact with Roxy’s chest, she didn’t give a damn about Dylan then. Ashley reached out to hold onto Roxy’s shoulders, she glanced at the asshole sprinting for his life but there was no way in hell she’d risk leaving Roxy to the elements for a quick taste of revenge.
Ashley wiped dark hair from Roxy’s face with a tender touch, “Cole!”, she waited until she saw his face through those old rickety doors when she realized she boarded it up before Dylan could get his hands on wreckshop. With a wave of her hand she tossed the makeshift steel bars aside and pointed to Andi also donning a dart of her own fully captured by the soft lull of a forced slumber.
“Get red over there. We need to find wreckshop and get the hell outta here”, Ashley knew she could alter the magnetic fields she emanated to fly but she hardly ever practiced on anyone else. She closed her eyes for a second, pictured those neat little magnetic ripples around Roxy and pulled her to her chest with ease. Roxy was as light as a feather, her hair dancing about her face as if she was drawn into space.
“Sleep it off babe, he’s not getting anywhere near you”, she leaned down to press a tender kiss to Roxy’s forehead and looked to Cole with a worried glance. “Where’d you park the car? We have a head start but not much”, she wasn’t sure what other tricks the bastard had up his sleeve. For all she knew he had a mutant that could heal him under some fucked up spell or whatever, still, they inflicted some damage at least.
Ashley glanced down at Roxy, there was no way in hell she’d let GADEM anywhere near the unique treasure wrapped in her arms. She’d die before she let anything happen to Roxy and that was saying a lot, she hadn’t cared this much in too long and it scared the living shit out of her. Ashley gently set her into the backseat of the car and draped her jacket loosely over Roxy’s sleeping figure.
Cole didn't hesitate. He was already staring out the window a little at the sound of what he thought was thunder in the air. The dark storm clouds rolled in and it always had his attention. Cole was fascinated by the pulls of electrical storms. It almost felt sort of like home for him. Like the pulling tide of the familiar was washing over the sky just for him. The electricity buzzed a bit in his hands. Crackling and dancing loudly as he sparked it from one finger tip to the next.
His focus was soley on the sky when he happened to glance down and see some strange man standing there with Roxy and the others. Cole shifted in his seat a little to get a better vantage as he watched with pure raw interest and curiosity. Roxy was getting paid? He thought about Wreckshop. Suddenly there was a tugging pull at his heart. He didn' just pay and leave he was looking up here at the windows upstairs. Did he want her for himself?
Cole didn't know, but that wasn't happening. She wans't just some prize to be handed over. Cole wasn't a stubborn guy but he'd dig his heals in and say fuck no. It flew in the fast of everything the lost believed in. They didn't turn on other mutants that guy could go fuck himself. Suddenly things were getting intense. He watched as Roxy tried to attack and that alone was enough to get him off his feet and moving out of his room.
He stopped in the hallway as he peered through the cracked open door of the room that was closed previously. He could smell the perfume he noticed on Wreckshop. Of course he noticed. She was a god damn sexy pistol. She didn't play for his team and that was a real sad thing, but he unashamedly lingered on the sweet scent long enough to recognize it. "Wreckshop?!?" He called out bursting into the room. He looked at the open window and even though they were on the third floor he already knew she had jumped out.
He ran to the window and quietly mouthed the words oh fuck as he saw a bouncing ball happily flying off into the sunset. Shit! Cole burst out of the room and down the stairs as fast as he could only to meet a metal barrier. He heard Ashley's call for him almost as soon as he reached the bottom. The barricade was slung out of the way and Cole did as instructed. Hoisting her up over his shoulder he carried her back to the confines of the car. He didn't know what else to do with her.
"What the fuck is going on? Who was that guy?" He asked quietly as he slipped the redheaded figure into the backseat. She slumped quietly along side Roxy and the two couldn't have looked more peaceful. Cole looked at Ashely. If her face could say a single thing it would be in all caps and add alot of dollars to the swear jar. He realized time was short. "I saw which way Wreckshop went. She might be in danger."

Ashley carried the raw touch of anger and hatred for that fucking asshole on her face like a neon sign, one glance to Roxy’s unconscious slumber left the inferno of fury even more ablaze than it ever was before. She turned her head to look at Cole, “Whoever hired you guys to break out wreckshop, I don’t have a first name but he’s fucking dick. We gotta get wreckshop, he’s after her. After that I’m ripping his skinny ass apart”, Ashley looked to the broken building that drew her to the complex and carefree workings of the lost in the first place. It was almost a shame to leave it in the rearview mirror.
“What the hell are we waiting for then?” Ashley lowered herself into the soft seat of the car with a determined glance to Cole, “we’re chasing a fucking bouncy ball”. Ashley allowed an exasperated sigh to slip through her lips as she drove the back of her head into the headrest. A deep breath later and a renowned desperation to get Wreckshop before hocus pocus could dig his claws into her left the ghost of a smirk set on her features.
“Where the hell did she go?”, Ashley wasn’t even sure how long it would take for them to catch up to her. Hell, she didn’t even know if the girl was running away permanently or if she just took a walk at the worst possible time. If Ashley didn’t feel driven to help wreckshop and protect Roxy, along with the red head who tried to burn the living shit out of her she’d be halfway down the street chasing the bastard that landed them in the shitty position in the first place.
“Do you have any idea how the asshole even found you guys in the first place?”, she wanted to know everything there was to know about the skinny bastard, in case she had the golden opportunity to hunt him down like the filth he was.
Cole didn't waste any time. He turned on the car and hit the gas.. Dirt showered out of the rear of the tires as he sped out of there. He could see that asshole guy running away. He thought about turning the wheel and running him over, but he didn't. He just was worried about Roxy, and the redhead. More Roxy than anything, but his thoughts were on red too. She was one of them now... And that meant that she got equal share in all the love and all the misery. "fuck what the fuck happened back there? Wreckshop jumped out a window and fucking bounced away. Roxy is out cold, and get this fucking dart out of her." Cole said reaching back and pulling away the dart from her body.
Foucsing on the road he swerved a bit and corrcted the wheel. He knew a place. A place that helped mutants. It was not a placew you could hide out at and stay, but passing through you could heal your wounds and donate a little money to keep the place running. It was a volunteer clinic for mutants that ran under the guise of a vet's office. Not alot of places were willing to sign the right paperwork for permits to allow a mutant only doctor.
Cole wasn't even sure how humans would regulate doctoring mutants. Their phsyiologies were all different it would be hard as fuck to regulate and medicate all that. "I didn't meet the guy until today. One of Roxy's contacts put her in touch with the guy. Some asshole named Slade. He's a slimey fuck. I never trusted him." Cole said staring into the rearview mirror. He looked at Roxy's sleeping form happy that it wasn't worse. It could have been worse. Turning to Ashley he smiled awkwardly. "You should have harpooned that dick. But at least I'm glad your okay." He said with a smile.
Cole wasn't the best at handling a crisis, but as he turned the corner down another street he figured he could at least let Ashley knew what he knew.... "We were supposed to free the mutants. No one said shit about handing any of them over. Just that Wreckshop was important. From what we could gather he just wanted to talk to her. Like she had some kind of information or some shit. But other than that... We don't know shit.
I am going to do some research on it trust me." Cole said. He could dive into the internet quite literally. Becoming and electrical impulse and sufring the web in purely electric form he could dance and zip all over sensitive information and find out what the fuck was going on. He was going to hack GADEMS'S firewall as soon as he had a moment and a laptop.
