There was a crack and crash as Violet kicked over a board. It flopped and landed in a pile of debris. She looked along the forgotten abandoned house and just sighed. At least it was a roof over he heard. No one would question her here. No one would accuse her of being a monster. Throw dishes at the wall or scream in her face. What a dick. She moved across the room and plopped in the dusty recliner. Her eyes following a long crack in the foundation of the wall. A piece of paper beside the chair stated that the house was condemned.
Deemed unsafe for humans to live in. Good thing she wasn't human. Violet struggled with a lump in her throat as the edge of tears threatened to push their way out of her eyes. She had been on her own for awhile now and the thought of going back a failure literally turned her stomach. Jake kicked her own when he learned what she was. Who she truly was. She was almost ready to go back and ask him to reconsider, but that' when she saw the GADEM man.
Jake tried to sell her down the river asking for a reward. She could hear the excitement in his voice at the thought of getting paid to fuck her over. Can't say he ever really loved her then. Violet raised a finger and out of boredom began to burn neon laser into the wall. As she carved the wall particles of moving neon gas pushed through the sculpted drywall.
She moved her finger in a dreamy, fluid motion drawing a picture of a couple of cats chasing a string of bright blue neon. The different colors she pushed into her artwork flowed through her based on her mood. Red was anger. Blue was depression. Pink was normal and a variety of other emotions and colors were linked to a variety of other emotions. Usually she felt so deeply when she was tagging a wall. It was an expression of not only her artistry but herself as a person. This was just random doodlings.
Violet had been staying in this abandoned house for the last week now. No body bothered her. She could find peace and solitude here. Mostly it was a place for her to mope. She hadn't had the courage to go back to her parents yet. They were supportive but she wondered if they were better off thinking she was dead. She could just fade away and they could go about their lives and forget about their daughter the freak. Their daughter the mutant. Violet allowed the dancing blue string in her artwork to trail off. She just didn't feel much like tagging. She stood up and stared out the window.
Before her the city stretched out a vast playground. An untapped city of wonder. She pressed her hand against the glass as well as her forehead. The rain running down the outter part of the glass shined brightly as she pulsed neon into her palm and watched the window come alive with brilliant light. It was only a pulse and she allowed it to fade. It was a beautiful gift. She didn't know why people considered her a monster. She made the world more beautiful, in her own way. And yet she was hunted like a monster. Stuck in a shitty abandoned house too afraid to make a move. To scared to find out what lied waiting for her beyond the doorstep.
Spending years finding people had been a passion of Elijah’s from the get go. Being the young man he was he had noble causes and the drive of never letting a family suffer through too much of the worry and fear he had when his own sister had gone missing all those years ago. Walking through the front door of his P.I. office he gave a grin to his sister who was busy typing away some reports. The two of them worked well together and Elijah was happy to keep an extra eye on her.
“So Madi, what do I have today?” He asked as he leaned on her desk after rounding the corner. “Oh just the usual. Missing dog or cat, missing girlfriend although the guy just looked like a creep and I can understand why she ran off.” She said in a light tone, but her face was serious as she handed over the file she made up. “The guy has been waiting in your office since we opened. Took you long enough to get here.”
“Hey, you know as well as I do that coffee comes first. Need the caffeine.” Madi rolled her eyes. “Yeah, you need more caffeine like you need a freaking heart attack. Remember what the doctor’s said.” It was Elijah’s turn to roll his eyes, “Yeah yeah yeah. If it hasn’t killed me yet, it ain’t gonna kill me now. That doctor was a quack to begin with.” “Yeah the quack that saved your life.” Madi scoffed and Elijah shrugged. She may have been right, but it didn’t mean he had to agree. Walking back into his office his face turned from cheerful to serious. Although with how young he looked even with his peach fuzz of facial hair, not every person took him seriously even with him being thirty-one. He just had that young look about him that others strived to have.
Sitting in the chair across from the man Elijah leaned back and opened the folder. “Jake Sullivan… welcome to Wood’s Private investigations. So, your girlfriend went missing?” He asked, an eyebrow raised as he looked over the man. Seemed to be in his late twenties, arms crossed, the look on his face was definitely of irritation and Elijah couldn’t find it in him to care. This was business hours now and he didn’t care if he stubbed a few of the guys toes. “You sure she didn’t just leave on her own and didn’t want to tell you it was over?”
The man scoffed, “Yeah, right. Like she’d want to leave me like that. I didn’t do anything to her if that’s what you’re implying.” Elijah held up a hand as he placed his feet on his desk. “Calm down Mr. Sullivan. Don’t have time for your ego being bruised by a simple question. How long has she been gone?”
He could see the tension in the guys jaw as he pulled out a picture of her and cleared his throat. “She’s been missing for a whole week. Haven’t been able to get ahold of her through her phone and she hasn’t been in her usual spots that she goes to relax.” Taking the photo Elijah looked her over. ‘Cute, rebellious type, pink hair. I can see why she left this douche.’ He thought. “I’ll need to hold onto this. Did she have something special to her? Like a necklace or something? Maybe a ring?” The buy pulled out a choker necklace and handed it to Elijah. “She used to wear this all the time.”
“Since she’s been gone for a week it won’t be overnight.” “I don’t care if it’s overnight or not. Just find her.” The guy said and got up leaving a wad of cash on his desk and leaving. Elijah narrowed his eyes. This guy didn’t seem all that worried over her safety at all. He didn’t even try convincing him that he wasn’t the real reason for why she left in the first place. Looking at the file he noted the girls name as Violet. A small smirk made it to his lips as he picked up the cash and took it to his sister. “Keep that safe. I don’t want us putting that away just yet. Something is fishy about this.”
“Yeah, I got the same feeling.” She said and placed it in a safe below her desk. “Go find her and get some answers. I’ll look up his background and everything.” She said and started typing away. Elijah nodded and headed out the back. Kneeling down he pulled out the photo and choker from his pocket. Pressing the tips of his fingers to the ground he closed his eyes and concentrated on her image. Everytime he did this it felt like such an out of body experience. He’d be able to zoom in on her presence, get a sense of how she was feeling, see where she had run to and from.
But seeing as he wasn’t that close to her the images were a bit of a blur, and there was some sort of pinkish purple light he couldn’t see past. Until he really focused in on her face. Opening his eyes he had a good sense of which direction he would have to go. ‘Don’t worry Violet. We’ll help you out.’ He thought and headed off down the alley. Unknowingly being followed by unwanted guests.

It was the middle of the afternoon. Violet didn't have to go to work. She didn't have a job or responsibilities or friends. She had herself and her art. It wasn't enough. It wasn't enough to push her out of the confines of a prison of her own making. It was her stupid choices that lead her here. She didn't always make the best of choices. She choice that jackass Jake over her own family. She was sure he was the one and now she wasn't sure if her family had even forgiven her. She wouldn't know either way because she refused to check. She could be stubborn when she wanted to be.
On the run from the government without even her family to turn too. She felt betrayed. She wasn't even entirely sure that her family wouldn't turn her in to the big bad G.A.D.E.M. machine for the reward money. She felt alone. Sliding out of the recliner the dusty cushions offered up it's modest dust as sacrifice. Pacing around the living room of her small house she sighed. "THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT MAN! JAKE YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT. I GAVE YOU MY HEART! I FUCKING TRUSTED YOU!"
In a rage Violet shot a beam of bright green neon out of her finger tips. It went dancing and spiraling out into the night cutting through several trees. A razor slice as it cut right through them and sawed the trees in half. They fell with a timber and a mighty shake. Violet started to cry and curled up against the wall. A rat ran across the floor. Stopping only long enough to stand on it's hind legs and twitch it's nose at her before scurrying away into the darkness. Violet didn't realize that she had just gave away her location.
Somewhere out there in the darkness of the woods around this lonely forgotten house were agents pushing in on her location. Violet wept against the wall. She cried and her shoulders sobbed and lurched and she just wondered if it would be a good idea to give up. She pointed two fingers to her temple. The way some child might imagine it to be a finger gun. Her thumb extended as tears rolled down her cheeks.
She was going to end it. To pulse a beam of neon right through her skull and let the laser take care of the rest. Sitting there she looked ridiculous with a shaky finger gun pointed against her temples while she cried real tears. But that was the gist of it. "I think it came from that house!" A man called out. Violet crouched to her knees and looked out the window. She could see flashlight beams bouncing around out in the dark. The sounds of dogs barking in the woods and the uneasy feeling riding her gut. They're here for me.
That bastard Jake. She looked at her pointed fingers and decided to hold off. Something about being faced with death changed you. It was different when it was her own choice to die, but when she was forced into the choice by the threat of capture it willed her to survive. Violet grabbed her bag and tossed it out the back window. She didn't bother with the backdoor with the busted lock. She climbed out of the window and grabbed her bag. Running through the woods and leaving a glittery trail of neon behind her

Starting in the early morning like he had Elijah would’ve been grateful for the slight jumpstart. However, with this new development of Violet being obscured by some neon light he was starting to feel like he got duped. This girl he could tell wasn’t just a normal human girl. She had powers and as of right now it was obscuring most of his sensory tracking.
He now was on the outskirts of town as he walked around. He knew the places here pretty well. His grandparents lived out here for a while before is grandmother passed. Then his grandpa had to be moved to a nursing home because he couldn’t take care of himself any longer. Looking around he placed his hand on the ground once again. There he focused on her face, the choker, getting the feeling of leaving his body as his mind skipped ahead.
There he saw an abandoned home, now overrun by people of ill intent. He couldn't tell how many were there but he knew some of them were dogs. They felt different from humanoids. But there he caught a trail of her light through the woods. Although it looked like she was going straight through he knew those woods and he smiled. His grandpa's hunting shack was out there. He could head out that way and probably run into her.
He'd have to get ahead of these assholes though. Looking around he saw a decent sized rock and picked it up. Walking further he noticed someone already heading out towards the trees. “Fuck.” He whispered and pulled back around the corner. Looking around he grabbed a trash can lid. Watching him carefully he pulled his arm across his body and with practiced skill tossed it like a frisbee. The lid slammed the back door shut and from the angle knocked the guy hard in the head. Blood leaked from the small gash it left as he fell unconscious to the ground.
Moving quickly he took cover in the dense brush. He waited to hear the door open but it didn't as people seemed to not notice the unconscious man. He didn't know the man had been a pissy bitch and annoyed the hell out of everyone. Sure they looked to the door but he wasn't on their priority list. Elijah's heart beat raced in his chest as anxiety and adrenaline ramped up. Getting close he pulled the man's body into the bushes and grabbed a large stick. He got up to the door and broke it to wedge it into the top and bottom. It would keep them occupied. Humans were stupid when faced with problems.
Taking off in a run he followed the light trail that was made eventually coming to an actual remaining trail of neon. He was mystified for a moment as he followed it. This power Violet held was beautiful to him. Amazing even. He'd have to thank her for leaving a trail, but probably not. It might come off as dickish. He wasn't one to do that to someone running for their life. He was happy to find the light lead to the small shack and he paused for a moment. He'd need to keep from using her name. She didn't know him from Adam and he needed to find out what was going on.
Her side would be helpful in this mission of bringing her home. He needed to make sure she'd be safe when he brought her back home. If she wasn't he'd find a way to make her feel safe. Brushing his hair behind his ear he listened for signs of movement. That's when a branch broke and before he could turn he felt the hard barrel of a gun against his back. “Jake, glad you're here.” He spat sarcastically. He didn't raise his hands. He's taken worse over in the army. “Move it mutie. I'm gonna get money for both your asses.”

Violet tried to hold her breath deep within her chest as she heard the crunching of leaves. Shit. What do i do? She wondered. Violet wasn't a very violent person. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. Sure she could lip off with the best of them, and she was the number one contender for the featherweight division's world championship in sass, But she could never hurt any one. Even if she was very very mad, most of her her neon was concussive, not actually leathal unless she shot a beam of it like a sniper. She could create laser beams with neon gas and project them out though it wasn't something she had ever used on a person before.
Violet just wanted to be left alone. She was tired of people in general. Maybe she had lost a little faith in humanity the moment she realized her boyfriend just saw her as a paycheck. Then again, most guys were assholes. It shouldn't surprise her that he was too, but it had. She was heart broken. Violet had spent three weeks out on the run just living off the land like a crazy pink haired hobo. Breaking into abandoned houses. Stealing her meals out of supermarkets. She was doing fine. She didn't need people. Suddenly everyone was looking for her.
She hadn't even done anything that bad. So mayb she pulled a snatch and grab on a rotisery chicken from time to time. It seemed like half of the fucking FBI was looking for her. She knew about the agents. She didn't know what agency it was, but they were important looking. Wearing ties and sunglasses worth more than anything she even owned. Yeah they were governement dicks alright. That's what spurred her to hide in the shack. She was running out of woods and this was the quietest place she had found in a long time. Violet was hard pressed to want to leave it.
She bit at her lower lip as she realized how they had found her. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the trail of neon just outside the window. Shit! Duh! Never go running through the woods! You know that shit sprinkles off you like breadcrums. It was only when she was moving at super speeds. Her body turned mostly gasious and bits of neon burned into the ground where she stepped. It was out of her control. If she ran she left a trail it was as simple as that. She was ready to face the music. Her fingers curled in anticipation. Man, she felt sick to her stomach. She was going to burn a hole through whoever opened that door. She heard people talking outside. She couldn't make out what they were saying.
The door swung open and she was shocked to see Jake. "Jake?" She said stunned for a moment. Then her eyes narrowed. "You turned me in to the fucking governement?" Violet started to storm across the room to him. She intended to slap him across the face. Her hands glowing slightly pink with waves of anger. She stopped in her tracks as the gun came out. "Don't move babe." He smirked. "We're just going to sit here and wait for the nice friendly agents to show up."
Violet's eyes moved to Elijah. "Oh him? He's a freak just like you. I'd say you two could hit it off, but chances are you're going to be disected and left in a jar on a shelf. Oh well." Violet sneered at him. "You're a bastard Jake." She snapped. "I'm a bastard with a gun." He corrected her. Violet knew it was only a matter of time before those agents that had been following her showed up. Then there wasn't much she could do to stop this. She could fight back. She honestly could and she had enough power within her small frame to make it one hell of a fight, but she wasn't violent. She wouldn't hurt someone unless absolutely necessary.

Elijah felt like such an idiot. Sometimes his mind would get so one track while finding someone he was blind to his surroundings. Because Jake wasn’t really part of the search he hadn’t sensed him following behind. He wanted to kick this guys ass back to the fucking dark ages. He rotated his arm twice and his watch sent a ping to his sister at the office. She’d be able to find them.
‘Thank God for smart phones and watches. Better get your ass here quick Madi.’ He felt the barrel dig into his back as Jake pushed him towards the door. Elijah held a cold vacant look he mastered from his time in war. It’s what he did when thinking through things. When Jake opened the door he met Violet’s face and he felt his heart clench.
He didn’t know what it meant, but being forced in and having the door closed keeping all three of them in the shack he knew every crevice of this place. Elijah scoffed at Jake’s words, and held back the laugh as Violet called him a bastard. “That’s giving him too much credit sweetheart.” He said and went to the small sink for a drink.
“The hell are you doing?” Jake asked as he cocked the gun. “The fuck does it look like? I’m thirsty.” Elijah smarted back. He challenged Jake to fire it off. He’d take a bullet for everyone if he could, but he wished he could have brought a bullet proof vest for Violet’s sake. Secretly a shotgun was hidden behind the little 1950s refrigerator.
He wasn’t against killing a man. He already had so much blood on his hands he couldn’t see past the color red. His phone vibrated in his pocket as he probably received a text from his sister. Jake pointed the gun at him and sneered. “Fine, have your last fucking drink of freedom.” He waved the gun and Elijah turned on the water. He gave a glance of concern to Violet then looked to the fridge and saw it still there.
Cupping his hand he brought some water to his lips and sighed at the cool taste. When he heard Jake turn his back is when he reached for the gun and pulled it out pumping it and smirking. “Well, this has been fun. You humans are so fucking predictable you know that? All ego and no dignity. How low do you have to be to want to turn your own girlfriend in for reward money that probably doesn’t even exist?”
Jake raised his arms up high and dropped to his knees. “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot!” Keeping his gun trained on on Jake’s back he motioned for Violet to move behind him. “Get out of here. Keep heading north towards the country road. There you’ll find a girl that can get you out of here. She’s my sister and she’s gonna take you to a safe place.”
He didn’t have time to tell her more than that. “I’ll explain more when we meet back up.” He said and motioned for her to get out of there. When she disappeared he walked up behind Jake and kicked him down to his stomach. “Fucking asshole. The hell makes you think you’re better than us?”
He picked up the revolver he had and belted it. “You’re a freak of nature! Both of you! It’s not natural!” Shaking his head Elijah stomped hard on his back. Hearing the groan of pain and the popping in his back he grimaced. He wasn’t against doing a little bodily damage, but it could still get to him. “Really? Because last I checked evolution was a big part of how we got to where we are today.” Jake tried getting up but Elijah slammed his foot down again with all his might earning another scream of pain and finally he heard something snap.
“Wha...what did you do to me!? I can’t… I can’t feel my legs!” Elijah gave him a cold vacant stare as Jake turned his head to look past his shoulder. “Yeah, and there’s going to be more of that if you even think about chasing after Violet. She deserves fucking better than some asshat that won’t be able to keep it up anymore.” Draping the shotgun over his shoulder he waltzed on out.

Violet was caught in the midst of a violent storm. She stood frozen between the men. Her eyes pitchecd back and forth between this stranger and Jake. She knew she shouldn't care but she did. She was with Jake for awhile. Everything was nice until he learned her secret. She had been keeping that secret her entire life, because people looked differently at you when they knew what you truly were.... Different. She shifted back and forth on her heels. She anxiously wanted this moment to just be over. Then he was telling her to get out of there. Violet paused.
Her heart wrenched between what she wanted to do and what was the right thing to do. She wanted to run as far and as fast as she could, but she didn't want to leave this stranger in the hands of Jake. Even if he had the upper hand now Jake had a temper. She reached up a shaky hand touched at her eye remembering one of her many not so forgotten brusies. Still, her good nature caused her vocal cords to yelp. "Don't hurt him. Please." She whimpered. A soft sigh and a kiss goodbye to any notion that she could be normal. The world didn't offer her normal.
With only a moments delay she ran to the door. Her feet thudded the warped planks of the little shack. She stopped by the door. She gave the stranger one last look and then she disappeared. The door swung open letting in a brief moment of light before she made her escape. She was always running. Running from her fears, her problems... Responsibility and reason. She was adept at running because it's how she survived. Violet made it only a few steps outside the shake before she froze. She turned back to face the shack with worry on her face.
She chewed at her lower lip as she toiled with her choices. Turning to a tree she raised her finger. Pink light pulsed from the end of her finger as neon burned into the tired , twisted bark. 'If I never see you again...Thank you. You gave me a chance.' Her message carved into the tree was sincere. She wasn't sure if Jake was the type of man to be bested, but she hoped for the sake of the stranger that this one time..... That this one time would be different. Violet ran at a human pace.
She didn't blaze throguh the woods with neon nipping at her heels. She didn't change her particales to be vibrant and glittery against the sparkling sun. She ran with her heart pumping hard and gasping pangs in her lungs, but she was free. Free of that man and his abuses, his heartaches and his invisible chains. The note she left on the tree burned with dancing neon. Lively and spriteful it sparkled with particals of neon gaze flowing through the grain and making the message seem alive. I
t was heartful and genuine. She couldn't expect to repay his kindess. Chances were he was already dead. She didn't have much faith in happy endings. Those were as mythical as the idea of normal for her. She thought about what he said while she ran. The way he spoke... It sounded as if he himself were a mutant. It gave he reason to be slightly hopeful that he might have some trick up his sleeve. Though the tears streaming down her face and the hitch in her throat said she believed otherwise.
She was broken. Caught up in a world of mistrust and self sacrifice. All she wanted was a shot at finding some place where she could live in peace and not be harrassed. She ran towards the county. Towards his sister. She wanted, if anything to tell her how brave her brother was.... It was the least she could do.
She hated herself for running like she always did. She supposed that would never change. She couldn't bring herself to become a better person in the larger scheme of things. She thought of herself as a coward. A coward for allowing Jake to treat her badly for so long and for not having the courage to face him now... She let a stranger do her dirty work and for a moment she believed she deserved to be unhappy for it.

Elijah felt terrible for hurting the guy after Violet had asked him to not hurt him. But the guy deserved it and they’d be able to fix him up in a hospital. Much more merciful than what he had wanted to do to the asshat. He walked calmly through the woods at a comfortable pace. Pulling out his phone he nodded to himself seeing exactly what he said there in a message. She’d be guarding their nondescript Grand Caravan.
Walking his eye drifted to the bark of a tree that swam with neon color. Reading it over he grew a soft smile on his lips and walked with a bit of a skip to his step. He Elijah always loved helping people. It was just inside of him, and using his powers to find them helped so much. He loved reuniting families and friends with their loved ones. Hopefully she’d be willing to do the same. The fear in her eyes he didn’t know if she’d just want to be hidden away from the world forever, or if she wanted to see her family again.
Violet is healthy and alive and that’s really all that mattered right now though. He just needed to get her to a safe place hidden for a bit. This wasn’t the first time with a run in with GADEM. He only learned about them when he was helping another kid find his father. Sadly that was one he couldn’t get ahead of them on. Getting to the break in the woods he saw a few buildings and crossed through a hole in the fencing of a building. Looking around he headed towards the street and his eyes fell on the van that still sat there. His sister obviously talking to Violet to keep her calm.
Meanwhile, Madi had been patiently waiting in their usual spot. After she got that ping back in the office she put the pedal to the metal to get here. She wasn’t sure who to expect first, but probably Violet. It was very rare that Elijah would arrive first, or alone with his special power. She sat in the car bobbing her head to some pop music as she looked out towards the alley that lead to the woods from the other side. When she saw the pink hair she smiled and got out. Her blonde hair gleaming delightfully in the sun. Her blue brown eyes darted around as she motioned for Violet to come over. “Violet? My name is Maddison. I’m Elijah’s sister. I’m not sure if the jerk introduced himself or not. Anyway, climb on in and we can wait for him here.”
There was no room for argument at her firm tone, but she kept it gentle seeing the fear and tears. She tried saying that her brother wasn’t going to make it and Madi couldn’t hold back her laugh. “Oh trust me, he’s a lot more capable than anyone to handle himself. He’s probably got that boy crying on the ground by now. He messed with the wrong people. But you’re safe now.” She placed a hand on Violet’s shoulder and opened the passenger door. Getting her inside she took her seat at the wheel and pulled out a pack of kleenex. “He’s going to be fine. I know my brother and he doesn’t go down without a fight.” That’s when Elijah knocked on the window with a nonchalant smile and his shotgun over his shoulder casually. “See? Never disappoints.” Madi giggled and unlocked the side door.
Elijah got in and closed the door. “Sweet message you left in that tree. Probably the first in a while. God, what the hell are you listening to?” He asked and leaned up changing the channel to listen to some punk rock. “Much better.” He said and laid back in the seat. “To my place Jeeves!” He joked and Madi gave him a glare. “Yeah yeah, reprimand me later we still got a job to do. Violet isn’t out of the woods yet. Let’s go.” Madi huffed and pulled out of the parking spot, “Jerk.” Elijah smiled, “Brat.”
Violet didn't know what to think as she approached the vehicle. Her heart was pounding in her tiny chest and her hands itched with the indecision. She knew that if she got into trouble she could blast these fools with neon. There was always the slight chance they were up to no good, though somehow she didn't think so....
Violets heart rate slowed a little as she saw the smile on the young woman's smile. It wasn't the smile of someone up to no good. It was honest and genuine. She climbed in without another moment's thought. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" She sighed from the backseat.
She was grateful she wouldn't have to burn a neon rope and tie this woman up with it. Steal her car and keep running. Because that was the plan. That was very much the plan if things didn't smell right. Violet had to trouble trusting people. After Jake, you couldn't blame her though Elijah and his sister made her feel comfortable almost instantaneously.
It was a rare feeling. That feeling of safety crashing over her like the touch of a blanket just out of the drier. She sucked her knees into her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. Her feet were on the seat, though there were fast food wrappers and empty gatorade bottles stren about the floor in the back so she assumed they wouldn't mind. "So you two are like a crime fighting team or something?" She didn't mean for her words to sound as snarky as they did. She was grateful, but she was also trying to get a grasp on what this was.
Violet watched the back and forth between them with a light smile. She wished she had a sister at some point. Someone who cared enough to be around anyways. Her family thought she was dead and she wasn't sure if she was ever going to change that. "I don't want to be any trouble." She spoke up from the backseat.
"Just drop me off anywhere. That's fine." Her eyes kept wandering back to Elijah. His strongly pronounced features and easy going smile. He had a warmth about him a genuine likeability that she wouldn't have minded getting to know maybe in another life. Now, all she could think about was getting someplace deep underground. Sadly relationships that start that way aren't exactly postcard. "What's that?" Violet asked pointing to a G.A.D.E.M. roadstop vehical check up ahead.. Suddenly the fear was creeping back into her eyes.
