Jenna smiled and nodded her head. She watched as Dana was finishing her application a lot more happier now. It was good to see Dana smile as she wrote, then she slid the paper in front of her. Taking her feet off of the desk, she picked up the application and began to look it over. There had been times she had helped Mike review such things while he was busy attending to other matters and helped hire on for new help for the second shift. Her amber eyes read it over carefully until she saw the part as to what her powers were. A mirror walker. She hadn’t seen nor heard of a mutant like that. It was something she didn’t want to put Dana on the spot if she had asked about it. Setting the paper down, she took out one of the pens from the cup holder and signed it as Manager doing the interview and the day’s date. Eeping it on the desk, she looked at Dana and said, “Well, congrats Dana. You will be starting on Monday morning. Your store ID will be provided to you on Monday when you come in. Since you’ll be working with me, you’ll be a cashier while I stock the shelves. When there isn’t any customers in the store, you’ll be helping to stock as well. Come, I’ll give you a tour of the store starting from the front and lead to back here.” Standing up from the chair, she looked at the monitor and saw that and older lady, probably in her early to mid thirties walked in and good looking she mused to herself, saw Mike raise his hand and wave at the camera she was looking at. Nodding at the sight, she said. “Well Dana, your going to get a first hand experience as to how my job is, ha ha ha.” She said warm,y as she asked around from the desk and towards the door. Opening it, she waved for Dana to walk out first. When she left the office, Jenna followed suit and closed the door behind her. The office was near the loading bay where they got their stock and across from the office was many metal shelve cases that had all the different over stock they had for the front of the store. The back was always set for sixty two degrees, so it was either fairly cool or fairly warm depending on the day and season. Walking towards the front, she opened the door and let Dana to go first. Jenna walked over to where the speakers were since she could see the brunettes hair from over the shelves.
Stepping up to her, who was busy looking at surround sounds, Jenna said with a friendly voice. “Hi there ma’am, I see you are looking at surround sound systems. But since you haven’t picked one of the many models we have, that would mean you are probably looking for the ones in the middle groun of Not to Expensive, not to cheap but still sound amazing...if you don’t mind me making a suggestion...” Jenna knelt down at the ones that were priced in the middle range. Looking up at the woman, she eyed her up and thought for a few moments. Shifting through the boxes, she took out a box that showed the speakers and Sub Woofer were mostly black, but the circular metal inside of them were a Crimson red. Standing up, she would hold onto the box and say. “This is the Theater Solutions TS522 Home Theater 5.1 Powered Speaker System. Able to hook up to anything, including car’s nowadays. These speakers will make it sound like you are in a movie theater. There is a remote controller inside that you can adjust the volume, bass, pitch, stereo and analog levels to how you like it without having to get up from relaxing. I picked this one out since I figured you were a red type of girl. Me and my roommate Dana here have this same systems in a few of the rooms at our home. It will run you about 100 dollars, so it’s not that cheap nor is it overly expensive. The speakers have six feet worth of cording and there is also twelve feet fiber optic cording depending on how big the room is you are setting it up. For this system, we guarantee a three month warranty in case anything happens with the system or if you don’t like the system where you can bring it back and either get your money back or you can exchange it for a different model of the same value, less, or have the total deducted off one that is more expensive.” Taking in a deep breath, she let it out slowly with a smile. “That’s always a mouth full to say ha ha ha...is there anything else you are looking for and is this sound system you think you might be interested in today Ma’am? And also, today we are having a special where if you’re order upon checking out is over 100 dollars, you get 25 dollars off your total. So you could grab a few other things and pretty much get them for free.” Jenna has had years of experience dealing with customers.
Looking at all the different surround sound systems, Kelsey was so engrossed in trying to decide that she didn't notice one of the sales clerks sidling up next to her... "That would be correct," Kelsey replied as she watched the younger woman whose name she didn't know - but who looked exquisitely sexy to Kelsey - kneel down next to where the surround sound systems were at; ever since she'd bought that 52" Panasonic flat-screen for the living room - Kelsey only had the one television at the house, preferring the solace and solitude of her shortwave radio everywhere at home - she had had problems getting the sound just right, what with some of the odd angles and the brickwork from the woodstove-centered fireplace which saw regular work in the winter time, and had effectively opted for sound assistance rather than moving it to a more optimum location. Listening to her as she spoke about one system in particular - which Kelsey thought would go well with the decor in the living room, what with it being red and all - and Kelsey found herself agreeing on that particular system, a Theatre Solutions TS522 Home Theater 5.1 Powered Speaker System that seemed to hit all the bells and whistles Kelsey was looking for...
..."It will run you about 100 dollars, so it’s not that cheap nor is it overly expensive. "I can imagine," Kelsey said, chuckling at the thought of the saleswoman not being able to say something after all that while at the same time noticing just how beautiful she was. "Its' almost like trying to pronounce a thousand different medical terms and mangling some of them in the process - the terms, mind you, not the patients; can't mangle the patients though lord knows there's always a few," she continued, pausing as she thought about the day's special and figured Why not? "The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a winner; I'll take it," Kelsey said, thinking that maybe she could pick up a few other items and, if the total amount at check-out was over $100, she might get the other items for free, like the woman said. "Unless there's a problem, I'm going to mosey around a little bit, see if there's other stuff I might want and then I'll meet you back at the counter so we can what the butcher's bill is," throwing in a little bit of medical terminology and thinking, by the gods on Olympus, she is beau-ti-ful.....

Jenna nodded her head and laughed lightly at the jokes that Kelsey said about the terminologies and how they shouldn’t hack away patients. The smile broadened a bit as she said, “I believe in the field it’s called triage. Reminds me a bit of Caddy shack with the grounds keeper Billy Murray and his boss going back and forth about calling the gopher a golfer. ‘It be perfectly legal, and we wouldn’t need a permit. Yeah, now let’s do the same thing except with gophers.’ “ In Jenna’s books, Caddy Shack was one of the best comedies they had made back in the day. When Kelsey said she would take it, she even said that she would go looking around for the day’s special. Nodding her head, Jenna would say. “Sounds good ma’am. If you need anything just shout Jenna and I’ll come on over and see what you need help with.” Turning away, she would begin walking with Dana. “Now we take the box to behind the counter where we will hold onto it for a little while.” Walking to the front of the store, she would go behind the counter and set the box on a shelf by the windows of the front of the store where the registers were also at. Leaning her rear against the counter, she pulled out her smartphone and checked the time. It was getting close to the time that the next shift will be coming in. Turning it back off, she slid it into her pocket and saw it was still raining. Jenna frowned a bit and sighed. “Such a dull day....can’t wait to get to The Underverse...the music and the atmosphere, makes me want to start playing now...but sadlyy the guitar is in the car ha ha ha.” Tilting her head one way and then to the other, she cracked her neck both ways, then she looked back by turning around to see where the female customer was at. When she had her sight on her, she would follow the brunette with her eyes, just keeping an eye as to where she was in the store.
Jenna nodded her head and laughed lightly at the jokes that Kelsey said about the terminologies and how they shouldn’t hack away patients. The smile broadened a bit as she said, “I believe in the field it’s called triage. Yeah, now let’s do the same thing except with gophers.’ “ In Jenna’s books, Caddy Shack was one of the best comedies they had made back in the day.
"Agreed; I especially liked the part where Bill Murray's trying to kill the gopher with water and ends up shooting all these geyser throughout the golf course and all along that gopher's just laughing his little tail off," Kelsey replied. "The look on Murray's face is priceless," happy to know that at least one member of the younger generation liked Caddyshack; it was one of Kelsey's go-to movies for watching at night (along with Airplane, Airplane II and all three Naked Gun movies). Indeed, during Kelsey's last relationship, her then-girlfriend, after seeing all the different movies she had - everything from Caddyshack to Dallas Buyers' Club and And The Band Played On - actually wondered if Kelsey didn't have a membership with the Academy, to which Kelsey joked in turn, "Hon, if I did, The L Word would've swept the Emmys each year it was around." That wasn't hyperbole either; although she had long embraced being out of the closet and all that it entailed, she didn't let it be the be all, end all of her life's existence...as she put it to a college crowd some years back, "Its' just like being left-handed and being from West Virginia; its' simply a part of who I am as a person."
As Jenna headed over to the register with her surround sound, Kelsey began looking around the rest of the store, all the while stealing glances towards the redhead in a surreptitious 'catch me if you can' kind of way, especially as she caught sight of another gal up front who looked almost as stunning as the redhead did. Humming one of her favorite songs as she looked through the books, she caught sight of the redhead glancing her way and Kelsey smiled, her eyes locking onto the other's for a few seconds. After picking up a couple books - three of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City works and one of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels, Kelsey figured she probably should be heading up to the front of the store to the counter; noticing a flyer for a concert sometime this week at one of White Plains' hottest clubs, Kelsey made a note to ask about it at checkout.
After a moment to remember where the checkout was at, Kelsey - now carrying five books (three Tales of the City novels, the Harry Bosch novel and a recent edition of The Advocate) - headed over, smiling as she caught sight of the redhead, their eyes locking onto the others' once again and thinking to herself, (a) damn, she's gorgeous as hell and (b) I don't even know her freaking name! Setting the books down carefully, she said to her, "That should be everything....," pausing as she remembered the flyer, asking, "When I was back there, I saw a flyer for a concert at this club, the Underverse I think....is that tonight? And....I don't think we ever got introduced; I'm Kelsey," offering the redhead a friendly, pleasant handshake, "and you are...?" hoping she wasn't being too forward but also hoping she'd get to know the redhead better....

The Redhaired 1st Shift Manager watche the Brunette Walking around looking at the books, especially the ones on the discounted shelves. Her eyes saw her looking at a flyer for The Underverse. Then she watched her walking a bit as if she was looking for something, like checkout Jenna kid inside of her own brain. And eventually, she did end up at Checkout. When Kelsey said that would be everything, Jenna picked up the Surround Sound from behind her and scanned it. Scanning each book, the total so far said 120 dollars. Scanning the one card that was at the register, the total came down to be $95 dollars. Kelsey spoke up, saying she saw a flyer back there for The Underverse and was wondering if the concert was on for that night. Smiling, Jenna would say in return as well as introduce herself as well. “Underverse, it usually has concerts playing every night there. Up coming artist, people who enjoy the thrill of singing in front of over 1,000 Mutants and humans alike.” Her amber eyes saw the hand and she took it, and shook. “Kelsey, my name is Jenna. Jenna Jones. Some call me Jay Jay.” Bagging the books and even double bagging them, she then took out their big bags that they had under the register and slid the Surround Sound inside of it. Setting the double bagged books on top of the sound syste.
Rolling up her sleeves as she was feeling hot under the collar. Rolling it up half way up her biceps, some of her tattoos were now visible as she placed both her hands on the counter and leaned down a bit. Curving her back slightly, she would say further on about Underverse. “They have a nice atmosphere inside. Everyone is wonderful in there. Wide ranges of beverages from non-alcoholic to full blown party stoppers. Food is freshly made and never dethawed frozen foods. But, you need to be either a member or a guest of a member to get in through the front doors before you can descend into its temptations that draws the soul further into its rabbit hole.” Looking at the screen at the total, she looked back at Kelsey. “So Kelsey, would that be. Cash, Credit or check? And would you be interested in signing up an FYE membership? All purchases gets a discount each time you use it and earn points which tally up. The more points you get, the more of a discount you will get off of your order of choice when you choose to redeem it at any FYE store or online purchase.” As she said all of this, she reached under the register and pulled out the application for the card. “You take this home, fill it out and send it either into the mail or you can drop it off here at the store. A card is already inside if you are interested.”

“Kelsey, my name is Jenna. Jenna Jones. Some call me Jay Jay.”
"Nice to meet you, Jenna," Kelsey replied, feeling both the smoothness of her hand and the strength within, watching as she double-bagged her purchases in a couple of their reusable cloth carrying bags and nodding appreciatively as Jenna mentioned everything happening at the Underverse, leaning forward on the counter as she spoke. Resting her elbows on her side of the counter, Kelsey listened to Jenna and couldn't help but start to get lost in those beautiful eyes of Jenna's.. "Ohhh," Kelsey said, almost absentmindedly but still transfixed on Jenna and now she was definitely looking forward to going out tonight; though she herself wasn't a mutant, one of Kelsey's co-workers back Salem Regional was (a cyber-hacker, if Kelsey remembered correctly) and had all-but-begged Kelsey to go with her to the club sometime and tonight might be the night that Kelsey pulled that particular marker out, having decided that she would give her two weeks to the hospital and take the job offer mentioned to her back at the LOFT earlier that day. As she started to think about what to wear - despite being in her mid-30's, Kelsey kept in excellent shape, possessing a figure that could not only turn heads but even make straight women question themselves in that manner, thinking back to that state trooper she saw when she entered the store.
Looking at the screen at the total, she looked back at Kelsey.
Snapped out of her momentary reverie, Kelsey leaned back up and got out her checkbook and opened it up, quickly writing out the amount and all the particulars down. Though she had two credit cards in her name, Kelsey kept one strictly for emergencies and the other for travel purposes, which given her current (and soon to be future) job was a regular occurrence...otherwise, she paid for most of her purchases by checkbook. It was habit for her to do so; growing up back in West Virginia, there were plenty of lean periods her and her family had lived through and she had made a promise to herself that if she could live a nice, comfortable life, not having to worry about money all the time but not letting it consume her up the way it had others back home, that was enough for her.
Nodding her head as Jenna told her about FYE's discount card program and everything, Kelsey smiled and handed Jenna the check, which bore the logo of People's United Bank and had been where Kelsey did most all of her banking with. "That should be the correct amount there," she said, "and yes, I'll take the membership; anytime you can save a little, do it," blushing a little back as she looked right at Jenna, watching her and not worrying about whether she was being too forward; there was just something about Jenna that, for lack of a better word, had Kelsey all-but-spellbound at the sight of her and she definitely wanted to get to know the redhead better....

“The pleasure is all mine for the meeting Kelsey.” Jenna stated as she smiled, showing her pearly white grin. Seeing the checkbook and Kelsey writing a check out. She tore the check out and Jenna took it from her. Typing the code on for checks a bit slower than she normally did it so that Dana could see for herself and take note on it. Sliding it through their little machine that read the check, and transferred the funds to FYE bank account and slid the check back out. Taking the check she slid it into a slot bow that was next to the register’s til under the counter. The receipt came out of the machine. Ripping it out, she slid it into the one bag and then handed Kelsey the bags. “Thank you for shopping with us today Ma’am. We hope you come back and shop for more of your Entertainment here at our FYE store in the future. If you have any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions, you can call that toll free number at the bottom of the receipt or visit the web site. If you were satisfied with how we were to attending to you, there is a survey you can enter to win a free 54” plasma TV. My name and ID number is on there for you to enter the survey.” Taking in another deep breath, she lets it out again. “Try saying that ten times fast...all the things they expect us to say in one breath sitting. Hahahaha.”

"Oh, no doubt," Kelsey replied, watching Jenna run the check through their system, clearing it and going over the procedure with another clerk standing nearby; taking hold of the bags from Jenna, Kelsey's fingers brushed against Jenna's and for just a few imperceptible moments, Kelsey could feel the energy surging off of Jenna onto her, like a slight tingling charge one might feel hoding one's hand next to a Tesla Coil. "You have a nice day," Kelsey said before heading out of the store, though she took a moment or two to catch Jenna's eye once again before rounding the corner and heading up the street back to her Mustang..
Kelsey's Residence Pulling into the driveway, Kelsey still couldn't get the sight of that gorgeous redhead out of her mind as she got the bags out from the back and half-walked/half-ran inside, shaking off the bits of rain that had soaked onto her clothes and coasted her skin. Why didn't I bring my umbrella with me? she sighed, setting the books down on the counter and turning the flat-screen on, setting it to one of the jazz channels that DirecTV had on one of their music channels; within moments, the sounds of Miles Davis' Spanish Key came forth as Kelsey headed upstairs to change out of her clothes and slip into something more comfortable for the time being.
Just as she got to the top of the stairs, the phone rang. Picking it up off the dresser, Kelsey - busy slipping off her boots and tossing them to the side - answered. "Hello."
"Hey, how's the day off, boss?" It was one of her fellow trauma nurses at Salem Regional, a girl Kelsey knew could hack into any computer system and who'd been begging Kelsey to come to the Underverse for gods knew how long.
"It was alright, Anita," Kelsey replied, pausing as she finally slipped her off clothes and all-but-threw on some shorts and a sweatshirt that she had worn earlier. "Why, they running short again?" she again.
"No, they're good," Anita replied back. "I was planning to head out tonight and figured I'd ask you if you want to go to the Underverse with me; I can get you in as a guest, Kelsey. Besides, I know you; you need to get out more."
"Tell me about it," Kelsey joked, remembering what Jenna - the hot redhead knockout at the FYW - had said about the Underverse.... "...you need to be either a member or a guest of a member to get in through the front doors before you can descend into its temptations that draws the soul further into its rabbit hole.”As long as you're there waiting, Jenna, Kelsey mused as she said to Anita, "Tell you what, Anita. All these times you keep asking me to go with you to the Underverse...well, I can use the night out for once; you want me to meet you at your place and then we'll take the light rail in?" Kelsey knew Anita lived almost within walking distance of a light rail line that ran right into the heart of White Plains, so instead of trying to find a parking place it only made sense to go there with someone else, especially if they could get you in as a guest.
"Sweet!" Anita said; after a little bit more conversation between them, Kelsey hung up the phone and looked over at the clock. Better grab a bite to eat first, then rest a little bit before I need to shower and get ready to meet up with Anita for the trip into town, she thought, slipping on some flats and heading back downstairs, hoping that a night out on the town might just be what the doctor ordered.

When the bags were handed to the lady on the other side, she felt the finger slide over her’s. She couldn’t act on the sensation since she was still on the clock. “You have a nice afternoon as well, Kelsey.” Her eyes followed her walking towards the doors and when she turned with them both looking at each other, Jenna smiled a bit and waved as the customer then left walking in the down pour outside. Shortly after Kelsey leaving, Mike came walking over and said to Jenna. “Ok Jenna, your turn to be interrogated by the state police.” He had a joking tone to him. A sigh came to her as she came around the counter and went over to the police officers. They asked for her name, address, and her statement. She explained all what happened with the not so gentleman. How he asked her what she thought about Mutants and gave her answer to him. She explained how he went ballistic on her proclaiming that she was a whore and that she probably slept with the ‘freaks’. Giving them his description of the man and the vehicle that he was driving. What she didn’t know was, that later on in the day the cops will find the car engulfed in a raging fire hours from now. Copies of the security tapes were given to the officers. While she was talking to the cops, Mike had taken Dana around the store and into the back to show her everything since she was just standing there and he needed to do something to calm his nerves. By the time it was said and over with, it was time for Jenna to punch out. And since friday’s were pay day’s, Jenna didn’t need to worry since she did quick deposit, less things to pick up. Walking into the back, she took off her name tag which had the electro strip on it, she slid it into the machine. The options came up on the screen which said Punch in, On Break, Off Break and Punch Out. Pushing Punch out, it logged that she was getting off three minutes after her actual shift ending. Every little bit of overtime added up, even if it was a few more cents or even a couple of more dollars. Picking up her leather jacket and putting it on, she walked out of the back and saw Dana was ready to go. The red head wasn’t in the mood to cook that night, so, she decided to pick up fast food. Taking her keys out, she nodded to the doors as she waved her gay bestie a good bye. Going through the front doors, she unlocked her car with pushing her thumb on the unlock button. Hurrying over, she opened the driver side door and jumped into the Vitara. Once Dana was in and buckled up, Jenna them to a Mc Donald’s that was close by.
Going through Drive Thru, she ordered them eight of the Mc Double Cheese Burgers, four large fries and two large drinks (Jenna’s being a Dr Pepper). Pulling the Black short designed truck up to the payment window first, she pulled out her debit card. After typing in her code, she was handed back her card and receipt and was told to move to the next window. Doing so, the window opened and the drinks were handed over. Placing her drink in her cup holder and the same with Dana’s, the bags were then handed over. Giving Dana the bags, Jenna pulled out of the place and drove them home. Her Spotify was playing random rock and even metal bands. There was a couple of songs that they both knew that they sang along with to make the ride shorter than what it really was. Twenty minutes later, Jenna pulled them up into the drive way. Pushing the button by her rear view mirror, the garage opened up. Once it was fully open, she pulled up inside of it. Pushing the button again, she turned off the Vitara’s engine. Opening up her door, she grabbed her drink and one of the fast food bags. Stepping out, she walked to door that led inside to the house. Opening it, she stepped inside and walked over to the round kitchen table and set the things down onto it. Slipping out of her jacket and placing it over the chair she usually sat in at the table. Sitting down, she took out her smartphone and set it down onto the table as she opened up the bags. Her eyes drifted over to how Dana was dressed and smiled at her. “So what do you think of FYE and this is your first time going to The Underverse right?” She asked as she unwrapped her first burger and began eating it. Cause of the time that Jenna was working there, she never seen Dana at the underground club. Taking a sip from the straw, she heard her phone’s messenger ringtone go off which sounded like an air raid alarm. Unlocking her phone with her thumb, she saw a text from Tiger, he was the gay bartender at Underverse. Reason why he was called that was because he was able to shape shift into a tiger. His eyes were feline in design, but they were an emerald green color that made Jenna jealous since she liked how his eyes were. For Halloween the one year, she had bought herself contacts to match his eyes. Apparently, someone who worked at Underverse was outside of the store when the gathering happened and told Tiger about it. Listening to Dana and texting at the same time, she would say to her. “If you want, you don’t need to change out of your current clothing or you can wear what’s more comfortable to you. They don’t judge how you are dressed. I think you’ll have a good time Dana. Hell, you may find someone there.” Looking at her phone again, she saw she had a few hours to get ready for her next job. Eating two burgers and half of her fries, she brushed her hands together as she stood up. Slipping her phone into her pocket, she picked up her drink. Her skeletal wings came out from under her clothes as a sigh of relief came from her. “Well, at least I don’t have to hide these while at home anymore.” Jenna said jokingly. All six wings spread forth as she stretched all her limbs outwards while she was on her toes.
Bringing her feet back down to the floor, she began walking towards the hallway that led to their bedrooms. “Oh, if you need something you are welcome to step into my bedroom and talk through the bathroom door.” Walking into her room, she left it open a jar. Grabbing a pair of small men’s black dress pants, she would also take a black dress shirt, a crimson red tie and her two sided color dress vest (front half is white while the back side is black). Setting her clothing on her bed, she walked into her bathroom and turned on the shower. Letting it warm up, she walked out it and began to take off her vest and shirt. Her boots were untied and kicked off. Picking up her clean workout bra and under armor boxer briefs, she flipped the switch to her room and the black lights came to life. Jenna walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her. Finishing getting undressed, she stepped into the shower. The hot water felt wonderful for a miserable day like it was outside. Rolling her head around so that the hot water hit every bit of her neck. She would begin to hum to herself which led to her tarting to dance in the shower as the humming led to her singing the song that was in her head. “Falling From The Sky The Castout From Heaven's Light Drenching The Soil With Blood Baptized In The Firehole

While Trooper Simmons watched the surveillance video inside the manager's office, Lt. Costigan took witness statements from everyone involved - namely the store manager and the clerk who had been accosted by the individual in question; as she listened to their answers and wrote them down, they pretty much dovetailed with the incident report Simmons had given her outside. It was another example of a growing trend that Laura had noticed over the past eighteen months ago, a growing trend that was either - depending on your point of view - simple societal pushback against the growing protections afforded the mutant community or a sign that dark forces were still at work, as they had always been throughout America's history. To Laura Costigan, only one thing mattered - that everyone was treated equally in the eyes of the law. Mutant or human, it didn't matter; to her, the law applied equally - or at the very least, should apply equally. It was a view that she had long held and one that was increasingly being seen as somewhat radical but she honestly didn't care what others thought about it.
After a few minutes, Laura closed her notepad and said to both the store manager and clerk, "Mr. Thompson, Ms. Jones, thank you for your cooperation; one of our investigators from the State Police's Criminal Bureau might come by in a few days with some follow-up questions; here's the incident number either of you can give him," pausing as she took one of her business cards out and wrote the number on the back of two cards, handing one to the store manager and the other to the clerk, "when and if they do come by. There may also be someone from the Westchester County DA as well who might come by later on; just given them the number I wrote there and just answer whatever questions they have. If you need to get hold of me or Trooper Simmons, the top number is the patrol barracks that we're assigned to; the bottom number is our dispatch number if you need to talk to either of us directly," pausing again as Trooper Simmons stepped out of the manager's office. Thanking them for their cooperating, both her and Simmons left the store and walked over to Simmons' Crown Vic. "What about Mr. Charmer here?" Laura asked, pointing her thumb at the cuffed person inside the back of Simmons' vehicle.
"He's not on the video; he wasn't inside the store," Simmons replied. "What do you want us to do with him?" he asked. Sighing, Laura replied, "Book him for a disorderly; the DA'll probably kick it since he wasn't inside but it gets him off the street for a while. I'll head up to the barracks and type this up into a few nice pages that, odds are, the DA will look at, say 'Thank you very much" and probably flush it right into the Hudson, the pricks." After a few moments, she said, "Alright, let's take off; time's a-wastin'..."

Walking down towards the Underverse, Kelsey felt a lot more at ease than she had in quite some time and looking like she was born to turn heads with every step. Dressed in a long, flowing yet fitted black dress which showed off a good bit of leg but not too much and a pair of lace-up 3" heels, Kelsey could almost feel everyone's heads turning as her and the rest of her group from the hospital waited to enter the club. A few small pieces of gold jewelry - mainly a couple of gold rings and a light necklace - complemented her look, a mix of gothic sexiness combined with a bit of daring-do. "Talk about turning heads," her friend Anita pointed out as they met-up back at her apartment for the trip into the city. Kelsey smiled and just shook her head; it wasn't her fanciest bit of dress but she figured the mix of simplicity and sexiness was perfect for the occasion...besides, as she pointed out to Anita on the light rail, maybe I might meet someone there; you never know.
That, of course, brought a shock to her friend's eyes; while Kelsey had had plenty of small, short-term relationships - romantic affairettes' Kelsey called them - it'd been years since she had been in a serious relationship and it sometimes frightened her to think that she might never find someone special to share her life with, to spend her years with. She knew that person was out there but it was like looking for a golden bullet; look too hard and you might miss it coming by. Don't look at all and you'll never know when it does arrives. As they got up to the door, the frontman pointed at them and asked if any of them were members. "We are," Anita said, pointing to herself and another nurse from the hospital, "and they're our guests," she added, pointing to Kelsey and one other person who was with them.
After a few moments of waiting, the frontman let them by and Kelsey was awe-struck by the club and everything; it was like - and felt like to her - a place of sanity in an insane world, a place to enjoy oneself without worrying about being judged. Beats all the other clubs I've been to, she mused as she pointed over towards the bar and said to the others, "I'm going to grab a drink; I'll meet up with you gals a little later on, alright?" Walking confidently over to the bar, Kelsey ordered an Anchor Liberty Ale; as he set it down, one of the bartenders asked, "First time here at the Underverse?"
"Yeah, nice place," Kelsey replied, taking a few sips of her ale and enjoying herself as she stood at the bar. Seeing a stage up towards the front of the club, she asked, "Concert tonight?"
"Yeah, I think we those every night or about every night," the bartender replied before heading over to get another customer's order; as she stood and watched, Kelsey felt more and more at ease, like she'd made the right decision coming out to the club tonight, thinking to herself, I've got to do this more often...

"I mean, it's a job." She said dryly to Jenna's question. There was a faint smile trying to show on her face but she didn't much feel like smiling. "No, I've never been. I never have been much of anywhere. Guess I'm a home body." Dana past her reflection in the mirror. Her reflection crossed it's arms and shook her head at herself even though she was standing perfectly still. She kind of zoned out and stopped listening for a second. Jenna said something about needing to talk and her door always being open. She was able to catch that part. "Yeah Okay." Dana said.
She had been feeling kind of off. She supposed it was because she had just outed herself as a mutant and found out her roomate was too. Everything seemed so surreal. For the first time in her life everything was going okay. She walked along the hallway listening to Jenna until she disappeared into her room. Dana looked at the door. She thought about backing out. Telling her that she wasn't feeling good and crawling into bed and curling up in a ball.
What am i doing? She thought. She couldn't help but feel like this was all leading to something. She had gotten the job at FYE and she started monday. She should be excited. For some reason she was terrified. Looking out the window the rain trickled down and the sky was dark. Too dark. Maybe it had to do with the storm, she just had a bad feeling twisting in the pit of her stomach. Still Dana had said she would go so she headed for her room to change and
Busting through her door into her dressing room, she quickly untied her boots and kicked them off into the corner. And sure enough, the make up people were there waiting for her. Tossing her bag onto her desk, she took out her clothing for the show and hurriedly strip out of her casual clothing and slid the tight hugging strapless dress that shined in the light, looking like thousands of onyx stones were covering it. Her skeletal wings adjusted under the dress as body glitter was lightly applied across her face, neck, arms and bits of the upper section of her chest and shoulders. Picking up the song sheet that had the list of songs that were going to be played that night, and the first song was from the band Volbeat with the song being The Devil’s Bleeding crown. Lately, Volbeat was a common request for different songs, so she had this song added to the list since it was one that wasn’t played yet. Tossing the paper back to where it was, her makeup was finally finished. She looked good as she looked herself over in her mirror. Putting the wireless mic in her ear by hooking it, her hair covered it up nicely with the thin mic laying against her jawline. Taking a hold on her knee high high heel boots, she slipped into them and tied them so that the draw strings didn’t come loose making the fabric to slide down her leg during mid performance. Standing up, she had to get use to these heels as she walked around the dressing room a bit. The girls all did there awww’s and you look great comments. But it was the one gay guy who was called Mr. Fabulous that made the comment that made Jenna laugh to help with her nerves.
“If you were a guy and you dressed like that in front of me....I’d cancel the performance and would slowly gobble you up...Mmmm hmmmm.” After a good bit of laughing, Jenna walked over to where her guitar stand was. Inside it’s cradle was her electric guitar that had a wood engravings of two Crescent moons facing each other. They were painted to look like it during a lunar eclipse from crimson red fading to white. Little stars were painted along the blackness of the guitars body to make it look like the night time sky and with the black lights, they really stood out as they looked like they were glowing. The door opened with an arm stretching inwards with her White Russian. Walking over, she took the cold drink, thanking them and took a big sip from the heavy Crystal glass. A quarter of the glass was now missing as she set the glass down onto her desk. A sigh came forth from her as she rolled her head from one way and then rolled the other way. Mr. Fabulous walked up to her and began to massage her shoulders and neck. “You know giiirl...we had heard about the music store...you want to talk about it?” Looking up at the ceiling, she replied with, “I want....to punch things. Called me a whore because he saw my tree of life tattoo and called us Mutants freaks! The nerve of people these days! We have rights too, just like anyone else. We don’t see people who are sick both mentally and physically not have any rights as to how their lives are.” Everyone in the room said almost at once. “Mmmmm Hmmmmmm.” , “But Yeah...I’m fine guys, really. Just a bit annoyed that it happened before my two day weekend.” The door opened again and popped in the head of a stage crew member with a head set on. “Jenna, your on in ten minutes.” Nodding her head, she picked up her drink again and drank the rest until it was just two ice cubes sliding around. Putting the glass down, she went and picked up her guitar. Sliding in the wireless plug for the amps, Jenna made her way to the trapdoor that led up onto the stage. Standing on it, she heard the music turn off as the trap slid open above her
The imagery on the displays on the floor darkened and showed the galaxy of our universe. Planets slowly going around in their orbit as the lights from the ceiling turned off and was replaced with black lights. ”Good evening everyone of the Underverse, it is that hour of the night that we bring forth to the stage one of our own. Give your attention to the stage and a warm welcome to Jenna Jones, The Fallen Angel.” There was a cheer from the crowd as smoke began to pour up forth from the hole as red lighting came on from the edge of the stage while other members walking out and took their positions with their instruments. Jenna ascended up onto the stage with her guitar ready. Looking at the crowd, she smiled and said. “Good evening Underverse, are we having a good time so far? Well, let’s throw it up a notch...” And that’s when she began to play. Everyone else picked up with her just like they practiced. As the music began to pick up, she swayed her head back and forth a bit and began to sing the lyrics to the song as the crowd began to get hyped more. Some had their hands up into the air and was bouncing up and down to the rhythm of the music. It was a good sight and feeling to see so many of the audience was enjoying what she loves to do. With a strong singing voice, she filled their ears.
“Falling from the sky, they're cast out from the heaven's light Drenching the soil with blood, baptized in the fire hole Walks over to the right side of the stage, looking at the crowd not blinking. The Devil's spawn no longer breathes Descending angels and fallen kings Raise your hands, what do you hold? The Devil's bleeding crown! She raised her fist as she sang this portion as she had her other hand stop the strings sonthe went quiet for a bit. Picking back up with the band, she would walk with a bit of pep to her step as she’s went over to the left side of the stage, playing and singing. Call upon it's Father, bless the goat, the womanizer Take him to Astaroth, Inanna's temple of Uruk
The Devil's spawn no longer breathes Descending angels and fallen kings Raise your hands, what do you hold? The Devil's bleeding crown! like before, she stopped the strings while she raised her fist once again, moving a bit on the stage as started back up, it was time for the guitar solo as Jenna walks to the edge of the center stage, rolling her head around and around causing her hair to spin in a circular motion. Once the guitar solo was coming to a close, she backed up with her head sitting up and her eyes opened up, looking like they were glowing a bright amber color as she walked backwards back to center stage.
They gathered all the children outside the church And never would they know what went on in there Close the door and hear all the angels scream "Oh mercy, mercy, mercy, oh mercy, please!" Down, down, down
Down below you can hear his hoof digging through the ground Oh Lord, Lord, Lord The horned one is back and he wants his crown The Devil's spawn no longer breathes Descending angels and fallen kings Raise your hands, what do you hold? The Devil's bleeding crown!”
They all played for a bit longer until the song was fully over. Standing there, she was breathing a bit fast.
Leaning up against the bar, Kelsey could feel the pulsating of the crowd as concert time drew nearer, the sound and the near-orgasmic crowds inside adding to the atmosphere inside the Underverse. "is it like this every night?" she asked the bartender; as loud as it was, the bartender could only give her an enthusiastic thumbs-up. Kelsey nodded, not needing to ask what he meant by the thumbs-up...I'm definitely liking this place, she mused, swaying her hips a little as she stood there, the music slowly working its' way inside of her as the lights began to dim and the club's special effects began to pick up...The imagery on the displays on the floor darkened and showed the galaxy of our universe. Planets slowly going around in their orbit as the lights from the ceiling turned off and was replaced with black lights. ”Good evening everyone of the Underverse, it is that hour of the night that we bring forth to the stage one of our own. Hearing the concert beginning, Kelsey finished her ale and set the empty-bottle down, reminding herself to pay the tab on it later on tonight as the concert began; it was as she was moving towards the crowds to enjoy the show that she caught sight of a beautiful - no, check that, very beautiful!, she mused - woman on-stage, looking as though she had just stepped off the pages of Billboard, Curve or The Divide in an outfit that screamed part metal beauty, part rock goddess. Listening to her as the concert began, Kelsey could feel the music coursing through her like adrenaline, moving in her own little space but definitely entranced by both the music and by Jenna as she played her set...and for just a moment, Kelsey swore her eyes locked right onto Jenna's, though she knew with the distance from the stage to where she was at, it would've been mere momentarily but to her, there definitely seemed to be something. I wonder if she noticed it too, Kelsey thought to herself as continued to sway in time to the beat of the music, hoping that she was right...gods, I hope so, she thought....I sure hope so...
