1996? She sat there for a minute. That was a pretty rough bump she had taken as she gently wiped the blood.
"I need that banner. It's not going to hang itself."
This was so convuluted. She was no expert by any means but she knew enough to know that nothing could be disturbed. Everything had to play out as it already had. In this case the past had to remain the past. Six variables running around was not good.
Slowly getting to her feet she looked around. It was still the school which was good but these students and teachers were not the ones she knew. Even the journalists and just help in general. She handed the banner back up and slowly started walking. She needed to find that woman, Kaira, Simon, Timothy, and Desmond.
"Don't use your powers,"
she slowly muttered to herself as she kept her head down only looking up occasionally. Wait, she recognized those sneakers. She made her way over.
"Simon,"
she said as she looked at him and helped him up. The gash on his hand was pretty deep.
"Don't freak out. Come on we got to find the others. Let's see if we can find that other young woman first, the one that threatened to zap Desmond which was pretty funny by the way."
Simon : What did you do?
he said as he held his hand gently.
"It wasn't me. "
she said with a slight hiss in her tone.
"It was Tim tossing her like we were rag dolls. I'm just as confused as you but we don't have time to point fingers. We need to get home and unless you got some ruby slippers tucked away somewhere, I think it's going to take more than a click of heels. Not very nice either Simon, to point fingers."
He rolled his eyes and looked around.
Simon: I think I see her over there, let's go see if she is okay.
Gigi ran her hands through her hair as she made her way and spotted the young woman. What a lame way to meet she thought to herself as she stuck out her hand and spoke to her.
"That's Simon and I'm Gigi. I don't think I got your name before..."
The hesitation in her voice was evident.
"..whatever this is happened and..."
Her mind was already tossing over all of the variables that they were all going to have to concept in order to get back to this same school only in their year. None the less pageant beauties do not show fear. Not during competition time and certainly not now. She whispered as people walked by. No disrupting events she had to once again keep reminding herself.
"..I need you to trust me. We're going to need that if we want to get out of 1996."
Whoa, Lisa thought to herself, as she shook the cobwebs out of her mind and started to look around, wondering what the hell had just happened; after a few moments' confusion, she caught sight of a banner and it gave her pause. "Science Fair...1996?" she whispered to no one, her hands working themselves in the other, a nervous bundle of energy inside her as she tried to comprehend what had just happened, thinking that they had just disproved the idea that one couldn't travel through time. Someone should tell Einstein that....wait, she mused as another thought entered her mind...if this is 1996, then I can't do anything to alter the past 'est I change the future; now, think, Jitterbug! What are the other rules of time travel?
She kept that thought in mind as she walked around, trying to regain her senses and not stand out as she ran through her mind the various rules of time travel; she knew that, back then, she was but an anxious, jittery 11yo living in the piney woods of South Georgia, her whole life ahead of her. She then started to wonder where the others she'd been standing around with had gone to, remembering that she had been pointing at one person, advising him to apologize for something he had said or else she was to zap him with an electrical bolt...next thing I know, Lisa thought to herself, I end up...ahh, there they are, a feeling of relief washing over her....
Gigi ran her hands through her hair as she made her way and spotted the young woman. What a lame way to meet she thought to herself as she stuck out her hand and spoke to her.

Listening to the young woman - Gigi, she said her name was - Lisa felt another bit of relief as she introduced herself to them. "Lisa Trammel," she said, a faint Georgia twang to her voice," and I was just about to ask:: what the heck happened and why are we in 1996, of all places?"
That was the end of that. I was not sure how, but some how Desmond would pay for this entire mess and not with an ass whoopin but pure hard cash. MY head was throbbing and my heart still pounding in the wake of the wierd exploding croney. I mean I know we are mutants but shouldn't some one like that be put in a hole some where to keep the pretty mutants like me safe? I pulled myself off the ground and wiped off my gorgeous diamond...
Hmm that was odd, I wasn't Diamond anymore but just my normal gorgeous self. Must of been some side affect or what not, I pulled myself up and looked around.
"Where the heck..," I was standing in the midst of the woods, trees everywhere around not a person in sight. "When did they add trees to the campus, and why? The whole going green thing was so 2002, I bet wild animals even peed in these leaves ewww,"
Totally grossed out i began my best to fumbled through the woods, making a special note to husk this epidermis as soon as i was some where sanitary. Thats when i heard voices, giggling and what not. I moved towarded it and saw a young couple kissing and hugging all on the grass, i just about vomited in my mouth.
"First off sister if you keep letting him sample the milk hes never paying for the cow, and second what kind of fashion sense do you got? High tops, rainbow colored everything, is that a lisa frank notebook on the ground? What is this some sort of 1998 retro remake of friday the 13, is there a masked man with a hockey mask behind one of those trees waiting to kill the whore and her jock?,"
"As if," The girl muttered and the boy stood up quickly taking a defensive position. Then another, more familar and annoying voice is heard
"1996 actually Prada, but your fashion sense is spot on,"
"Pinhead?," I groaned ignoring the couple rolling around on the leaves trying to resist their most primal desire to maul each other. "What are you smoking?,"
"Nothing, I got popped out a few yards from a gaint science fair the sign said 1996. I got a little worried so I ducked in here until I figured things out,"
I looked at the couple "If you can put your hormones in check for about as long as his penis probaly is, which isn't as long as you would like honey i bet you that, will you too confirm or deny his silly story,"
"You mean that its 1996? or that there is a science fair," the man asked and the girl slapped him
"Totally not cool to chat with her, I mean she just insulted us both Devon,"
"OH yea, not cool. Lets go Jen, I know a better spot anyway,"
"Yes yes, go make her a teenage mother that you have no means nor plans to support. Run away and become a druggie to leave her to prositute out for baby formula! God the 90's had the best anti drug commercials watch one will ya!!,"
"Chill," Desmond spoke up "We don't need to draw any attention, besides if your here so are the others mostly your girl friend Gigi she has to be behind this. SHe does time stuff right?,"
"I guess, lets find her before I decide to kill you before your ever born twerp,"
Giselle did not want to lie to the woman so she said nothing. However that did not stop Simon from speaking up.
Simon : I'm pretty sure little miss Gigi here did it.
She sighed and pushed her hair behind her head.
"No, don't you know how to read? Tim did it. Point being we can not stay here and even if we could I refuse to stay in a year before I was even thought of. We got here, getting out should be as simple."
She tossed her hands up in the air, making lines. It was how her mind worked even though their was nothing there things were easier for her if she could simply through mathematics at everything. As she walked she motioned for them to follow her.
"Come on please,"
Alright so with powers being 98% off of the table, that meant once they had everyone gathered they got one chance to get back to the present and that was it. Her line of thought was interrupted by Simon smacking her hands down.
Simon : Don't do that. Every time you do something goes wrong.
Well..she put her hands down. She furrowed her brows and turned to Lisa Trammel.
"I might need some of that voltage that you were going to hit Desmond with here in a bit."
The best she had it figured she needed a bit of a catalyst, a jump start if you would.
"Just a small one though, like smaller than small, okay?"
Hearing the back and forth between Simon and Gig, Lisa's head began to spin - partly from everything that'd happened thus far and partly because she didn't really want to listen to their conversation - but rather than say anything, Lisa simply waited until they got finished... Well..she put her hands down. She furrowed her brows and turned to Lisa Trammel.
"I might need some of that voltage that you were going to hit Desmond with here in a bit." The best she had it figured she needed a bit of a catalyst, a jump start if you would. "Just a small one though, like smaller than small, okay?"
"Just say the word," Lisa replied, feeling a slight tingle in her arm and down through her hand, "and I'll have him jumping around like a jitterbug on a hot skillet," keeping herself as calm as possible so that, if need be, she could zap Desmond without having to break a sweat doing so....
As they walked, she finally spotted Simon, the woman, and Gigi. She made her way over followed by Desmond. She made her way over and spoke.
"Someone want to tell me what the hell just hpanned?" she knew that her voice was raised and she quickly lowered it.
"Where are we because it does not look like we are where we should be and Simon is with you right?" she did not even want to think about if Simon was not there. Tehy seemed to be in trouble enough and right now the last thing she needed or wanted was more trouble.
Simon was missing? She sighed as she spoke and motioned for them to circle around her. She was nothing near a leader but she felt like they needed to all keep control of this situation in order to get back home.
"I want to go home and I am not going to lie I am not exactly sure how much time will be missing when we get back but our mission from here on out is to find Simon. He probably got scared so together we are going to find him so that we can all get back."
She hated to think of what would happen if she decided to just drop him off here which was a very close thought at this point and time.
"Come on just follow me."
Her anxiety itself was getting out of control and she was not by any means going to let that little kid get the best of herself. At this point she simply refused.
"I want to go home and I am not going to lie I am not exactly sure how much time will be missing when we get back but our mission from here on out is to find Simon. He probably got scared so together we are going to find him so that we can all get back."
"She's right," Lisa said to everyone as they gathered around Gigi. "We have to go back with everyone that was brought here; if we don't, we could be messing with a lot of different timelines and causing all sorts of chaos, so..." "Come on just follow me."
"Let's just get out there, find him, and," Lisa said, glancing over at Gigi, who seemed nervous and fidgety, "let's try to relax and find Simon; the sooner we can do that, the sooner we can head back to our own time," speaking in a tone that brooked no argument or discussion. Gig would lead, but in Lisa's mind, the first thing she had to do was calm down and if that reminding her of it, then she would do just that and worry about the result later...
She paused, not time or anything but herself. Froze was a better word actually. Slowly blinking and thinking about everything she swallowed as she spoke.
"Besides everyone knows if anyone gets left behind it's Desmond."
His loud mouth has started this and sure other variables had effected it but in the end everyone except for Lisa had contributed. Poor Lisa honestly nothing but an innocent bystander and now she was caught up in some trippy stuff. As they walked Gigi finally spotted the blonde hair that belonged to Simon. She cautiously walked over.
"Simon, listen carefully. I need you to stand up and I need you to get over here with us and we are going to find a nonchalant corner where no one will notice us and get back home. However you need to keep your anxiety in check because if not, we will end up more screwed than we already are."
She felt itchy and she started to speak but she wanted to get back to her time. "Come on Simon do as she says or we will all be stuck here and no one standing here wants that." She knew that she sounded bossy btu that was her role and she played it well. She took in a deep breath and tried a second time.
"Simon we want to go home and since it semes you were a part of getting us out of our time we are going to need you to calmly get us back to our time. I hope you can do that, don't you Desmond?" She shouldered Desmond a little bit and he nodded.
Listening to Gigi - now calmer than she'd been earlier, Lisa noted - speaking, Lisa knew that the longer they remained in 1996 the greater the chances of inadvertently leaving something behind, something that could affect the world they'd all come from... "Simon, listen carefully. I need you to stand up and I need you to get over here with us and we are going to find a nonchalant corner where no one will notice us and get back home. However you need to keep your anxiety in check because if not, we will end up more screwed than we already are."
"Gigi's right," Lisa said to the others, "because the sooner we get back, the better. The longer we stay here in 1996, the worst the risk of one of us leaving something or someone behind and that could really screw up where we came from; it could even cause us not to exist at all....," pausing to take in a long breath as she added, "so like Gig said, let's find a corner somewhere and whatever it was you did, Simon, to get us here, do it again in the other direction so that we can get home, alright?"
"Look I am not a person to give advice but I need you to give me a slight push as in I need you to use your power to set my power off. You can do it just not on such a big scale that I can not control my own self. This way we can all go home and get back to our lives. Simply think back to something that makes you anxious but on a smaller level."
She stepped back as he nodded. She could feel his anxiety picking up and seen the small ink blots on the ground. She took notice of the people who started staring but that was okay. As she watched she closed her eyes, concentration in effect and begin to roll her hands back.
Please let this work,
she thought to herself. The strands of her hair began to pick up and she attempted to make her way back towards him. She felt herself being pushed which she thought was good. She closed her eyes and when she reopened them..
They were back.
Students were bustling everywhere and she heard someone speak.
"Hey get off the courtyard the grass needs to be cut."
She turned to all of them.
"No one ever knows of this, it's a secret between us. I'll see you guys around."
END, thank you both for participating, @lexie and Lisa Trammel
